Ik this video is VGC focused, but in Regice's defense it was a solid pick in Gen 3 OU. It was a much more offensive special wall than Blissey, especially with STAB on the Ice Beam Blissey loved running, and before the phys/spec split the only special type which gave it trouble was Fire. Now, Moltres and Charizard have become actually decent in ADV OU so Regice is a lot less common, but it did serve a role in its debut generation at least

Jirachi, specifically its gen 4 singles iron head/body slam/wish sets. It's entirely designed around forcing your opponent to not play the game. There's a good chance it just kills its best checks outright because nothing is a good enough check against both paralysis and flinching that is strong enough to out damage wish. Jirachi's HP stat is high enough that it can give almost a full heal to late game cleaners once it's torn through your team as well.

Regigigas is a true loser from powercreep, because nowadays you can find legendaries just as strong with the beneficial abilities

Wobuffet is actually unironically good in singles. It has encore to keep it from getting set up on and shadow tag to keep it from getting switched on. It’s been a banned Mon since Adv. It’s a surprisingly deep Pokémon and is highly underrated in the uber tier but is absolutely a Pokémon to respect

I made an All Regis team once for Doubles. Assault Vest Regice actually came in handy; tanking an Armor Cannon with the seriously high SpDef was pretty funny, and Icy Wind is often very useful, especially for Regidrago.

Regigigas also ran "supportive" attacks, namely Icy Wind, Knock Off and Body Slam; that way, it could at least contribute even if it didn't get out of Slow Start.

Toedscruel has a good drawback ability since it's only to balance it's high speed while having spore so it doesn't affect attacking moves and even has a little upside

I think it should be noted that they are actually thinking about the competitive scene.... It's just that not every Pokemon is meant for that scene.... And a lot of Pokemon are purposely designed to suck just for the sake of world building....

I will actually defend seismitoed being used as an example here. Not only does it have a great special and physical moveset which means it can feasably run mixed for coverage but it has decent bulk, amazing typing and good abilities that have given it success in singles and rarely in vgc

They need to add Mega Wobuffet with a signature ability that taunts the enemy on switch in, AND ignores stat boosts like Unaware.
