I evolved my first toedscool and immediately realized I made a mistake. I didn't so much care about its effectiveness in battle. In doing so I lost one of the greatest walking animation they ever gave us lol

okay but in singles this ability is actually pretty useful because A) the coin ghost is everywhere, and B) switching is a lot more common which somewhat negates the negative priority and makes it impossible to deal with it by switching in a grass type on spore or leech seed

If it wasn’t for the fact that Mycelium Might can also ignore Garganacl & Gholdengo’s abilities, I’d consider it completely useless

If mycelium might ignored type immunities, that would be sick. Like if you were able to use spore on a grass type.

i've heard that it allows you to use spore on mons with insomnia/vital spirit, but then they just wake up the next turn immediately bc of their ability

You missed the part where most of the abilities it "ignores" proceed to immediately cleanse whatever effect the move it powered up had, making it a -1 priority for no gain

You forgot the most important part which makes it not useless. It ignores abilities.... So you can use the moves on pokemon like gholdengo and gargancl.

While it isn't affected by the opponent's abilities (similar to Mold Breaker), it really should have done just a bit more; like make it so the moves cannot miss or fail.
This would make Stun Spore, Poison Powder, Toxic, Leech Seed and Supersonic all guaranteed to land, which is actually pretty useful.

I love Toedscruel but it really got screwed over in the ability department. It needs to be acknowledged though that the only reason it has both Spore and 100 speed is because of the ability, and I find the trade off well worth it to have a Spore user that can at least _attack_ quickly. However, where it got screwed over is that Mycelium Might only counters Magic Bounce, Good as Gold, and Purifying Salt. If it also countered Insomnia, Vital Spirit, and Early Bird, I would actually really like this ability.

I really fail to see why so many people are saying that this completely ruins Toedscruel's viability. Amoonguss is popular, and having 30 speed is almost always going to feel like it has Mycelium Might too.
