Watchog is unironically the most useful pokemon for catching anything in unova. It has illuminate, gets super fang, hypnosis, thunder wave, foresight, and mean look.

For me it has to be Finneon. I completely forgot it was a gen 4 Pokemon and couldn’t figure out what I was missing from my Dex when playing BDSP. Nothing about it stands out as remarkable and even its evolution isn’t interesting.

My first thought would be Unknown.
It is objectively the worst Pokémon because it has no potential to be better, bad stats and is locked to a single move.

I do want to defend Lycanroc-Midnight by saying its design seems to be a deliberate reference to Joe Yabuki from the manga Ashita no Joe. Joe himself drops his arms for a No Guard stance and invites his opponent to throw strong attacks that he then proceeds to Counter. Lycanroc-Midnight does learn Counter unlike the other two forms, which makes this reference more deliberate. Vital Spirit could also be indicative of not getting knocked out so easily. Early translated titles for Ashita no Joe included Rocky Joe, hence the Rock type.

Does this all create a competitively viable Pokemon? No, but the design is still pretty paying homage to a classic boxing manga.
