Perfect illustration how surveys are misused and miss applied and more importantly, how people jump on a survey that is invalid and unreliable. Further more, they draw correlation where there is none. Just because an ambulance shows up every time someone has a heart attack, that doesn’t mean that ambulance’s cause heart failure. Before you consider the results, consider the study.

Hi dr I’m from India and I’ve been following you for the past three months, it has brought many changes in my life clearing my doubts since I was doing OMAD Intermittent fasting 20/4 hours every day and water fasting of 36hours once 15 days so I was following this combo of IF and water fasting from last two years. I haven’t faced any health issues since then. Here in India, our parents are always against IF and water fasting but it’s all about our doctors who kept scaring them for the last 15 years that eating four or three times a day is very healthy but I didn’t listen to them for the last two years as i said above i was following it and honestly brought many positive changes in my life. Thanks for sharing such much-needed information to us ❤💪🏻

Thank you for always using research and other experts to explain this clearly. I know you already did in your academy, but this shows the extra steps you go to empower women to take control of their health with all the bad information out there.

Dr Mindy, PLEASE HELP, I hope this message finds you well. I am 44 years old, 6 feet tall, and weigh 90 kg, with a waist circumference of 111 cm. For the past month, inspired by your videos, I have been religiously fasting for 15 hours everyday, with an eating window from 10 am to 7 pm. During my fasting period, I only drink water and one cup of black coffee in the morning without sugar and milk.

I eat a balanced diet with plenty of protein, fair bit of healthy fats, decent amounts of fruits, and vegetables, and limited amounts of rice or ragi. Even during my eating window, I dont over eat and I completely avoid refined, processed foods, and foods/drinks with added sugar, (except for one cup of tea with sugar and milk in the evening, which is within my eating window). I also walk for 60 minutes five days a week and get adequate sleep.

Despite feeling great and energetic, I have not seen any changes in my weight or waist circumference. Could you please help me understand what I might be doing wrong

For 2 years I have been doing intermittent fasting without any problem. I started the 48 hours. At 41 hours of fasting I wake up at night, with a tachycardia. 85-100. I get up, walk, breathe through my nose while heaving my stomach. Nothing to do. It increases 111-115 pul/min. In short, after 90 min I decide to break the fast, olive oil, avocado. I continue the breaths which have finally passed. What should I conclude from this?

Hi, I am confused. Dr Fung's book says you can drink Bone Broth and a Tumeric type of tea during a 36 hour fast. Is this true, cos if it is I can DEFINITELY manage that better than 'black tea' or coffee, (I absolutely HATE water).

Sugar withdrawals can lead to many types of unpleasant “events” for certain groups of people.

I always appreciate your interviews, Dr. Panda. Off subject: A "well known" speaker on time restricted eating says it is ok to go completely off the program on weekends. That's not true is it?

Hi, I totaly believe you, I have to admit though, that when I started fasting, I got heart racing so I stopped. I am convinced of all the advantages of fasting but how can I prevent getting heart racing again?

I feel it's irresponsible for them to release a study like that.

I do have more arrhythmia especially AFib but I know to watch my electrolytes VERY carefully, too. During IF and any extended fasts, I flush a lot of fluids and I’m still on certain bp meds that also tend to dehydrate me. Hopefully, I’ll soon be off those meds and finding a balance with inflammation/fluid retention etc.
