Great advice. In the mid 1980s, a guy came in my Dad's auto parts store. Said the driver side door was loose on his Chrysler K car. We went outside to look at it. The only thing that was keeping the door from falling off was a single small cotter pin. Smoke was also coming from the exhaust. What a pile of junk!

I can't speak for the 200 but I can definitely speak for the 300.
My coworker has got over 291000 miles on his 2005 chyrsler 300( original transmission). On top of that it still out shines most new/used cars on the road. Take care of your car, and your car will take care of you.

The German made ZF 9HP48 9-speed had some software updates for eratic shifting. It is not a Fiat transmission. It was used by other automakers other than Chrysler. such as Acura. More than 3 million Chrysler and Jeep vehicles used this transmission. The ZF is not particularly known for problems - other than the software issue of the first year. The ZF is a pretty good transmission overall, but the 8 speed is probably better than the 9 speed - too many gear choices caused "hunting". The 3.6 Pentastar is not underpowered, the four cylinder might be, but not the v6.

The reason they called them the 200 and the 300 was because that's all they were worth once you drove them off the lot.

I 100% agree. My Father had a 2015 Chrysler 200 that was on its 3rd transmission in less then half a year.

My favorite Chrysler is the 1990 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue.

I don't know how we got away with it. I purchase a limited seabring in 2004. Just sold it to get a new Honda. But 18 years with that car and aside from general maintenance nothing ever went wrong, it did have the V6 maybe that helped. IDK but I feel like I got away with something.

I had a 1999 concord which was a nice car until at 6 years the ac blew up, and cost more than the car was worth to replace

I drive a 2001 Toyota Avalon xls still looks great and drives better than a lot of 5 year old cars on the road doesn't squeek or crunch and engine is quite best car I ever owned and going to miss her when she's gone some day

It's such as shame. Chrysler has had some damn fine looking vehicles over the years, and even today. But aesthetics doesn't get you from point A to B, and I just don't get why they won't up the quality of their vehicles. Isn't it logical that a car that gains a reputation for reliability, is going to sell more units over the lifetime of production? Maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but at the very least that should be a priority for any car maker.

Just had one of them come in a few days ago with the ABS module kicking on every time the car stops.
