I feel part of the reason for this hop skip and jump is partially because consumers are looking to buy a good used vehicle and hold on to them for dear life!! Aside from what we are already aware of, the auto market has made purchasing a new vehicle nearly impossible from a financial standpoint when dealers have the inventory. And now it’s affecting the used car market to make up for what’s been lost. Sure the average used car cost is down by nearly 5 percent from July. But I’m with you Kirk, I wouldn’t hold my breath for too long. We’re going to roll right into 2022 with the same thing. Save your money, and take care of your current daily commuters.

Talking used and what I personally do. I'm honestly all for the mid sized RWD Semi Luxury Sedans and Coupes a few years or older. Thinking basically cars like the IS350, Q50/60 and similar formula cars which are still known to hold up well.

You get majority of the features come on new cars now in the average price tiers etc. I maybe thinking to far here but looking from the outside it looks like so many in the US market are obsessed with always having new and wanting to consistently have something financed and make most of what that lets them get.

The Hyundai recalls have to do with their old generation of engine.

The Theta engine, it costs Hyundai a tone of money 💰, that’s why they switch to the new family of engine the “ Smartstream Technology” with Port&Direct injection.

I feel bad for the people who need to replace their vehicles right now. My mother is in need for a new vehicle after she found out the frame in her Honda Pilot was NFG. I told her to exercise patience right now because the prices are just not right. Fortunately for her she has great family support to get her around. Still it limits her freedom but the car prices are so far out there for her being on a fixed income.
