Perfect for transitioning into Spring, a traditionally waxed jacket such as this one offered in Barbour's Country collection offers old-fashioned weather protection in a non-technical style. This model feature four box-pleated outer pockets, handwarmer pockets, and two interior pockets, with brass stud snaps and a study YKK zipper. This model has a 6 oz. skyoil waxed outer and a tartan liner for some extra warmth. Barbour also prides themselves in their recrafting service which is commendable. I'm not a fan of the microfiber neck liner and have some questions about the manufacturing origins of this jacket, but overall this is a handsome, well-made piece of outdoor apparel. I had fun shooting this on location at my local River museum. I hope you enjoyed it too!

Dude, the last few videos I've watched you've really stepped it up in production. Very nice man.
One of my favorite channels.

I like the craftmanship. Cool location change. & it would not look strange with another jacket or coat on top of it .

I have one of these jackets and it has proved to be excellent in all respects. As to where they are are 159 factory workers at the South Shields factory, where all the waxed Barbour jackets are made. The more colourful quilted jackets are made overseas, mostly in Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria. Some of the biker jackets are made by third parties in the UK." Barbour jackets were originally utility/work garments which have become fashion items as have jeans.

so I decovered filson last year. I bought on of there tin cruiser jackets. I wore it everyday working in the traded and as a everyday jacket as well. The jacket never looked dirty. It ripped about a month ago so I called filson and told them about it with in 5 day they had sent me a new jacket from there shop in Seattle to Toronto Canada. I was super impressed. not many company's will do that anymore.

Many thanks for what I found to be a very comprehensive and enjoyable review of the Barbour Utility Jacket.
I don't if this will help but towards the end of last year when I bought my Barbour Beaufort I telephoned Barbour at their Simonside Factory to ensure that my Barbour Beaufort was actually made here in the United Kingdom in that factory in The North East . I was told by the lady that answered the phone that Barbour make three styles of their jackets at the plant now and that they are The Barbour Beaufort ( I'd assume this included the Beaufort Classic), The Barbour Bedale and also the female version of the Bedale namely The Beadnell... If I've been misled or perhaps the situation has changed then I'd be very interested to know as I am actually on the look out for another Barbour but would prefer to know that it's been produced here in the UK at the factory in The North East.. No reflection whatsoever on the possible exceptionally high quality of the clothing made overseas just a personal preference that's all.
Again, many thanks for your fine video I am subscribed to your channel and enjoy most all your posts.
Thanks bye for now.

Very nice review mate. That is a very smart jacket.
I wear a made in Australia Drizabone Norfolk waxed jacket which is very nice, especially considering that I live in the subtropics. I am really impressed with both the Filson and Barbour waxed jackets, that offer lovely studs on their pockets and great zips, but of course at a far higher price. For now, I will enjoy my Aussie Drizabone and live in hope that one day I will visit the USA or the UK and get to actually try on Barbour or Filson.

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Filson Short Cruiser Jacket. I'm really intrigued by the tin cloth.

It's hard to select a Barbour. I like the coverdale model, but can't find a good one. I like the lenght of the New utility and I like the looks of the Sapper model. 30 in. is about right for me(I hate long jackets).

It doesn't appear as if Sierra Trading is carrying the jacket you reviewed. A search for "Barbour mens waxed cotton jacket" turned up ten jackets none of which was the one in this video.

Nice! I tend to lean towards, Carhartt, L.L. Bean, and Eddie Bauer. I like companies that offer tall versions of their products.

I'm thinking of Carhartt jacket (the duck detroit) to go with my Hamilton Cooper. Probably a bit sad. Any thoughts? Great video btw.

I am kind of an Orvis guy, that does look like a good jacket however I would be concerned about the 6oz. material.

If it not says made in England on the inside label it is not made in England, also if the label in the inside pocket is black, it is made outside of England, the made in England jackets have a white label in the inside pocket. That is how to spot a made in England jacket. Nice review!!
