My 2 Favourite Jackets from Barbour.

My review of the Powell Quilted Jacket and the Sapper Waxed Jacket from Barbour.

I have three. A Beaufort, a Beaconsfield, and a Union Jack International biker jacket. Ignore the malarkey of sizing down. Unless you’re built like Kate Moss, stick with your regular jacket/sweater size. Barbour makes this chunky Tyne tweed sweater which will keep you warm on a rainy day.

The quilted jackets from barbour are so well made and elegant. I love it because despite the quality their are quite affordable and here in germany you would rarely see people wearing it.

They are very well made. I have a Beaufort and I love it. Loads of pockets and tuff as old boots.

How roomy is that sapper on you? I keep hearing it's runs HUGE and to size down. You seem to be on the slimmer side and I'd think the medium sapper would be huge for you, no? Or is it one of those tailored sapper jackets?

What's the sizing like? Do you always take M? Does it run smaller or bigger than most?

Are the sleeves in the powell also fleece lined or just the body part?

What is the reason for going medium size for the sapper vs size small for the Powell ? Is there any difference in the cut or fit ?

I have the same quilted jacket so I'm glad you like yours.
It must be the warmest jacket/coat that I own.
Of the wax jackets i own i think the Corbridge is the best but the Ashby isn't far behind.
I love my wax jackets but they are absolutely rubbish for walking any distance longer than a couple of miles.
I walked just under 9 miles last Saturday in my recently rewaxed Bedale and I was drenched in sweat.It isn't breathable at all.

Bedale is a great jacket. Fine for urban wear or for hunting pheasant.
