Wow praise God
I was literally talking to my sixteen-year-old son about water 2day.
We all grew up in protestantism Baptist theology, as my whole family before me and before that, I just now found Catholicism Within These past two years, bc I finally started to grow more spiritual.
but I literally was just having this conversation today describing to my son how baptisms cleanse Us, & how important water is to life, how everything in this world needs water to survive.

This is great confirmation God bless u all

Thank you Fr. Andrew for your talk.
A couple of months ago I was “inspired” to put a Holy water font in our house. I haven’t gotten around to finding a font yet but I do have jars and bottles of Holy water here and there for my family to bless ourselves. I also have it in both cars. One is in a spritzer bottle. I just use it liberally, thinking of the joy I feel when I get splashed in church and remembering that God is so lavish in pouring out His graces upon us. He holds nothing back. 😂
I use the spritzer bottle in particular before and after people with “very negative attitudes” come into the car or when the Lord’s name is taken in vain. After all, we are in a spiritual battle.
Praised be Jesus Christ!

I think it would be fun to see who the other Friars each think is the most underrated of our Dominican brothers and sisters are. Saints whose lives are truly inspirational.

Father, may I ask, if someone has been baptized as a Catholic but is in a state of heresy, that means his grace has not been received, right? is his grace lost or delayed? for example, if he repents he will receive the grace of his baptism from his desire

If, in baptism we are freed from not only the guilt of sin but also the atonement for it, would purgatory then be simply a post-mortem continuation of our joining our suffering to Christs? That would seem pointless. Or would it be more like a “second” baptism (baptism of fire?) should we choose to follow Him in that tiny space between when we technically “die” but are given a final choice for our souls destination?

Father I have a question. The waters of Baptism cleansed me as an infant. After a life of sinfulness are the waters of my Baptism still have a purifying effect on my soul and Body? And if the answer is yes, How so?

The first Baptism that is done is on the Cross when this one eyed Roman Centurion Longinus poked the side of Jesus Christ hanging on the Cross to make sure He already died and then water and blood gushed out and a drop of that fluid spilled on his blind eye and immediately it was healed and now can see! Amazing Grace how sweet thy sound, the Saviour saves a wrecked like me, I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now i see….! K

We don't need to atone for our sins, but we do need to confess our sins apart from baptism.

Where to even start. Baptism =/= salvation 1. sin is never removed from the believer, the eternal consequences of sin are, we have to live with the earthly consequences 2. spiritual enemies can NOT occupy a human that receives the Holy Spirit into their physical, earthy body, which is what happens the instant of salvation, as Christians' bodies are the only Temple of God on earth 3. baptism does NOT forgive sin, Jesus does 4. Christians do not win the crown of Victory, Jesus did, once and for all (all who accept) 5. baptizo means immersion, not pouring (yes, even when referring to immersing hands for washing, the hands are fully immersed in a stream of water) 6. nobody is 'reborn' during baptism, you're confusing that with salvation 7. all babies go to heaven, which is what you're worried about and why you think you have to baptize babies in the first place 2 Samuel 12:23 so quit confusing baptism with salvation 8. Aquinas himself, ADMITS that baptism =/= salvation when writing about the Thief on the Cross, be he invents out of absolutely nothing the unbiblical hogwash, his 'baptism of desire' ! Matthew 27:38, Luke 23:32-43, and Mark 15:27 Saying 'Baptism of Desire' is as logically consistent as saying the 'Orange of 17'. Baptism and desire for salvation are two categorically different things, and you can not equate them. I suspect the account of salvation of The Thief on the Cross was a given to us for the exact purpose of understanding that.

At baptism rhe baby's guardian angels have to leave as human people vow to do the job of the guardian angels, this is why baptism today is disastrous, children are ripped away from their guardian angels and the people break their vows believe me I know.your description is rubbish.

This is a good video, but a bit lacking in depth. Water is just one kind of compound that results from fusing atoms in different ways. It is, coincidentally, that compound which is needed to sustain life organized in all ways that we've observed (carbon-based), but to assign special metaphysical significance to water is just a subjective human value.
You could've said that the banal act of submersion in water was a pathway chosen by God for humans to perform as a show of faith and obedience, and an intuitive piece of symbolism that hints at more complicated realities, but instead this video suggests that liquid H2O is somehow magical.
