How to Fix a Baseboard That A Puppy Chewed Up --- Fast and Cheap!!

Today I decided to tackle a baseboard that my eight-month-old Beagle puppy decided to snack on one day. Dogs and puppies especially seem to like chewing on the corners of baseboards and my little pup is no different. I decided to use a wood filler to make the end of the baseboard smooth again and to shape it to the profile of the baseboard. After sanding and painting, the baseboard practically looks brand new from afar. Only when looking close up will it look like something happened to it.

I adopted an elderly mutt from the pound. I knew immediately he had some issues. One was, he didn't want to be outside if my husband or I wasn't with him. We went off on a day trip, and my husband insisted on leaving him out with our other dog, who didn't mind spending the day in the yard(fenced). When we got back, our new dog had chewed the frame on both doors, trying to get back in. (Told ya so, honey. LOL) Anyway, I knew there had to be a way to repair without replacing the entire frame. So I came to youtube, and here you are! I wrote down what you used. I have some spackling tools that'll do just fine for the job. Hubster has some sandpaper, but I'll have to check the grit to see if I need to get some more. I'm not at all worried how it will look after the repair. It looks terrible now. It can only look better. And I need to paint the entire frame and door anyway. Thanks for the tutorial!
