This is the best way I know to fix broken baseboards. Just be patient and do several coats

Wow. I'm glad you were to the point. Most people give a 30 minute intro and it drags on. Thank you

This information was exactly what i needed! I was thinking i had to sand/file away the old paint and wood to get the filler material to stick. After 15 years in my new construction home, some of my baseboards have some pretty good dings and gouges in them. This tip should help me repair all of the damaged bits, without replacing or hiring a handiman. Thank you so much!

People talking about their dogs eating their baseboards while I'm here dealing with a munchin bunny and a house for sale D:

This is great. I was trying to do the repair in one coat. Very difficult and frustrating. This makes a lot more sense. And you got right to the point. I appreciate that too. Will definitely try, thank you!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I just moved into an older house with years of damage and a previous DOG so I've been very frustrated with how it looked. Now I can just make this a weekend project one room at a time and my OCD will not go into overdrive!!

WOW! Thank you! After years of staring at a gash on the baseboard at the bottom of my stair landing I can finally fix it and forget it. The situation that caused it was stressful and upsetting. Every time I see it am reminded of the situation. Now I can fix it and forget the situation ever happened!

Had the exact damage as you showed. Followed your directions. $4.98 for a small tub of all purpose joint compound. Will probably never use it again but who cares. Looks as good as new. Thanks.

This is the first DIY video I have seen where reality is as easy as the video. Just put the first coat on, didn't realize I could use joint compound. I had been staring at the baseboards thinking I should use wood filler or resin 😂.

Good thing is I already had plenty of joint compound in the garage

I'm in the process of fixing several areas of damage in my daughter's room before painting. I'm using Elmer's wood filler because I don't want it to shrink or ding. The area I just fixed is exactly like your demo. I taped under and over the area and filled it in over three days and sanded it round to match. The process is the same but I wonder about the longevity of joint compound.
