Angling the blade to scribe the paper of the sheetrock is more helpful. It insures the separation from baseboard to the wall.

Yes using wedges and surface area is the best way. We saved all our large original baseboards, door and window trim when we gutted our 1912 two story. We labelled each piece and stored them in the basement stacked in one corner. Once I finish the layers of high insulation foam I will reinstall one by one.

Never understood doing an entire new bathroom and reusing old trim. New trim is cheaper than your time.

That’s one way to do it, if you want to avoid accidents and wall contact all around, score the edge with your razor blade, and put a screw in one end of the trim only as deep as the trims thickness and use it to pry the trim off the wall.

Mine were glued on as well as nailed and it ruined my walls when I did this 😭 so be careful yours aren’t glued too

That’s a lot of unnecessary work.
Just use a shovel, you don’t have to bend down nor work on your knees.
Simple as a shovel and 3 times faster
