Loving my routines triggered by light switches. Makes turning off a group of lights simple but all my zigbee lights are connected to echo hubs. I've thought about smartthings as a zigbee hub but I've been told that smartthings won't work with Homekit. Any way to make zigbee work in all 3 assistants?

Hey, I want to buy an smartthings hub but before doing that I want to know if is any way to connect an wifi 2.4g tuya switch to it. I've connected the smartlife account in smartthings app but I can see only the smart plugs. Thank you for your answer!

Hey Brian, thanks for the updates. It’s nice to see Google taking a few baby steps into this arena. I can’t wait for the device options and command functions to expand.

I believe that unifi DSLR is still available in the early access store because it's like $2500. It might not be in Canada yet, I know Mactelecom Networks has trouble getting stuff in the early access store to Canada.

Hi Brian. I hope you haven't already covered this, but can you tell me how to send an email from Google mini using IFTTT with the new Google Assistant V2? It worked so well before August 31st. I just said [Hey Google, send Email " "]. Now the applet doesn't work. Thanks!

Hey Brian - great vid as always. Have you had any feedback around the Google household routines? I've been having an issue with these routines - I've created a few voice activated ones that launch a scene from smart things. These routines appear on my wife's home account however the scene isn't there and doesn't work. When she triggers the routine Google says one or more devices aren't available. If I add the scene to her routine the scene disappears from my routine. Weird.... Other household members can't trigger the routine so I'm at a loss about how these routines work?

If they could get on Amazon's level for routines, triggers etc. They'd pick up a lot more market share. That's the biggest thing we've been missing since switching from Alexa to Google Assistant.

Seeing multiple cameras on the screen would also be really cool

Lol literally 30 minutes ago, I tried setting up a routine for a sensor to trigger a light that doesn’t expose to HomeKit, and only to GH, found it extremely restrictive. Also the camera stuff you mentioned has been in HomeKit. Can’t wait for matter but man am I glad I don’t use GH for most things.

8:30 I don't see how this is an issue. Home Assistant would still remain compatible with every device which manufacturer doesn't intentionally obfuscate the protocol. Having an official certification just means that it's guaranteed to always reliably work by the company, not just hacked together by the community only to break on the next update. As a user who doesn't get to see the internals of these things, you can't even imagine to what lengths these greedy companies go to prevent third-party control of their devices.

I was trying to get my Aqara Cube to work all night on my Smartthings hub. Still not working. I'm in the US.

Not only can my smartthings motion sensors not trigger routines but they have completely disappeared from Google home I'm not sure if this is due to a recent smart things update or Google home update but these sensors still show in the Alexa app. I even created a virtual trigger which showed but as soon as I changed it into a motion sensor it vanished
