This video is incredibly insightful, highlighting the powerful connection between what we eat and how our brain functions. Learning from Dr. Tara Swart, a top neuroscientist, about the essential foods for brain health—like DHA-rich oily fish, colorful berries, leafy greens, eggs, and the importance of hydration—has made me rethink my daily diet. I never realized how crucial nutrition is for staying sharp and mentally fit! The discussion on intermittent fasting and avoiding processed foods was eye-opening. Thanks for sharing such valuable knowledge on optimizing brain health!

I have replaced our teas with natural herbal teas that are cold brewed and add raw unfiltered honey for a sweetner. I have eliminated all white sugars, corn syrups, fake flavored syrups. Only honey or pure real maple syrup and it is limited in the amount that I use. Is replacing the sugars with raw unfiltered honey any better than processed sugars?

Fish, we have every week canned skinless boneless mackerel, skinless boneless sardines, canned wild caught red salmon, sometimes fresh wild caught salmon (depends on the price per pound). Organic bananas we each have 2 per day. Black sweet cherries we have a huge cherry tree and when it is producing, we get about 500lbs. I home can them in quart jars for the year. We pit about 100lbs and freeze them for smoothies for the year. We make black cherry juice and we can them for the year concentrated in a quart jar which will make a half gallon of natural cherry juice. Plus we eat a lot of it fresh for about 3 weeks during the time our tree is producing.

Seaweed, we have packages of them in the house and have that with various meals, or just as a snack instead of chips.

We have our own chickens and quails. We get fresh eggs daily from them. We have hard boiled, scrambled, poached, omlets, sunny side up all year round. I always keep about a dozen hard boiled eggs peeled and available in the fridge. I also make pickled beet eggs. I also make korean marinated eggs with chicken eggs and quail eggs.

Salads with green leafy veggies at least 4 times per week. We always have kimchi in the fridge and that is eaten with many various meals as a side.

We make home made whole milk yogurt with active cultures weekly and that is eaten with fresh organic fruits with a drizzle of raw unfiltered honey and chia seeds.

We keep brazil nuts, pecans, cashews and peanuts readily available as a snack with chopped up fresh dried apricots and dates.

Take our vitamins daily, we get at least 30 minutes of sun per day on sunny days. Sometimes more, depends how much work needs to be done in the gardens.

Don't know if we are doing enough. Alzheimers has raised its ugly head in 2 older cousins (late 70's early 80's). We are in our early 50's.

I was always taught by my mom that eating fish makes you smarter, and I believe I’ve applied that teaching very well for the past 40 years. You know what the best part is? Every time I make a mistake, I eat fish and think that afterward, I'll be smart enough to solve all my problems :))

Nuts and seeds like walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, and hemp seeds provide rich sources of omega-3s. Green leafy vegetables and avocados contribute omega-3s along with vitamins C, E, K, and B6. Maintaining fats at 10% of a diet supports optimal health, while 80% stemming from carbohydrates in fruits enhances energy and digestive health. This approach, known as the 80/10/10 raw vegan high fruit diet, emphasizes fruits for nourishment. Foods mentioned in this video contain unhealthy elements.
