Straight Hole Drill Guide Jig

This is a 5 minute review on a straight hole drill guide. If you don't have a drill press, or need a mobile jig to drill straight holes, this is the one IMHO. :)

I bought something similar to this and have to add to all those that are interested in a tool like this: make sure there are springs on both steel rods. The milescraft brand that I bought lurch to the side without the spring, causing a non straight hole.

And it only makes sense. If you’re using the spring and resistance on only one side, and there are only 2 steel rods (3 might be different), one side will lift.

Now this comment also goes to this product, excellently demonstrated by Suj when it comes to using the knob stop. I would assume the same issue would arise.

If it were me, I’d remove the spring(s) (like I did with my milescraft) and focus the device more on being accurate than retracting when a hole is done.
