I'm shocked how many people in the comments have no experience and are trying to talk trash. The purpose of this tool is not to replace a drill press, it is for holes on tables, mortises on large legs, drilling dog holes, etc.

This is very useful. I need to drill holes on 8x4 3/4 plywood. The holes have to be perfect and in the middle of the sheetrock. My drill press will not work. This would work great!

I like this, a lot, but for the money I would have expected to see return springs on the guide rods. Add those springs, and make the price a bit more realistic, and I'll buy one.

Why was a spring not incorporated into the design like other drill guides?

Actually not bad compared to the others out there. I would pay $200 for a solid accurate drill press. All that's missing are guide rails for flexible mounting options. People keep saying buy a cheap drill press, try sticking an mft tabletop under a drill press and see how far you get. This has its specific uses that cannot be matched by a drill press.

question, can you use this with diamond bits to drill stone. How would you put your stone in water?

I got over excited and bought the rockler one (already had wolfcraft).

Had to salvage the springs from the wolfcraft, and felt kinda cheated with the huge price tag.

Question- Ive never used a drill guide before. I work in marine construction and we have to drill a pilot hole through 7"-14" thick round pilings with thick drill bits. Sometimes getting enough push is hard to get b/c you might be trying to push a drill in neck deep water and its very difficult to push the drill hard enough for it to catch traction. The problem isn't so much staying on angle, the problem is getting enough push behind the drill. Do these drill guides help you push the drill in anyway or do they just keep your drill at a set angle?
