We continue our exploration of differential equations by focusing on those that are linear in the dependent variable. This video demonstrates how to solve such equations exactly. We show that through a carefully chosen integrating factor, we can undo the differentiation in the differential equation, reducing solving the equation to a problem of integration. Two examples are worked through from start to finish that fully demonstrate the method.

This course is taught by Jason Bramburger for George Mason University.

Course Topics and Goals: At the end of the semester, students should be able to solve various geometry and physics problems that are modelled with definite integrals, use techniques to evaluate integrals, understand infinite series and power series, and be able to identify and graph conic sections and basic parameter and polar curves.
