I truly wish more of our citizens here in the USA, would understand and appreciate what we do around the world on a daily basis. Let alone the most dedicated, professional, trained, educated, and selfless fighting force ever assembled. The LEFT and RIGHT wings of the political spectrum do not understand the importance of our national defense system and what it provides to them personally. God Bless our troops!

Because our military doctrine is based on science and technology, not kleptocracy.

US is also resource rich in nearly every category. Our SPR requirements are effectively zero, we also don’t have to worry about territory invasion nearly as much as our adversaries. On top of that, the natural water transport system allows the US to move supplies out of the US at a faster rate. Our adversaries are surrounded by our Allies.

We need to give our allies the aid they need to keep other countries out of their territory

A key factor missed. No country has the experience the U.S. has. China has not even really fought a war in the modern age.

The U.S holding 4 of the top 5 largest air powers in the world is just a military flex. There's also the fact while everyone else is developing or have just developed 5th Gen Fighters, the US is already developing a 6th Gen.

One thing you forgot to mention was the US Navy's "mothball fleet", which has about 600 reserve ships in various conditions of battle-readiness just sitting in random harbors spread all throughout the US.
Even if only half of those ships can be refurbished and kitted out, it would catapult the US's quantity ranking to above China's and Russia's easily, thus giving the US an advantage in all 3 categories: quality, displacement, AND quantity.

Never mentioned the space force! Orbital assets are also incredibly important!

The most important thing is how many friendly countries you have that would work together in war.

Careful on the stock footage. The “T-54” shown at 5:15 is actually an American M-48 on display in Vietnam.

Years ago, I was skeptical of military spending. However, updating my historical knowledge to modern times forced me to realize that the US has no choice but to have the full spectrum of military options despite the price. While we have to always police corruption, we cannot fail to make the investments and often have to feed our business partners in peace to have them in war or to deter it. Unlike many autocracies that spend large percentages, we get solid results with far less corruption ‘tax’ diminishing it. Sure our costs are higher in a modern nation, but so are the capabilities.

1. The integrity of the NCO corp
2. Regular "on the job training" having been at war much of the last 100 years across various geographic / climate zones
3. Training in asymmeteric warfare
4. Maybe I missed it, didn't hear anything about bombers or the nuclear triad
5. Paraphrasing a Nazi officer, "The hard thing about fighting Americans is that they don't follow their own rule book", dovetails with the nco corp mentioned above which emphasizes independent decision making and common sense over doctrine
6. Special forces and their complimentary missions
7. America is culturally and racially diverse... meaning it's easier for us to insert a unit that can blend in with an indigenous group than for a culturally homogenous nation... like, hypothetically, Iceland couldn't insert a unit into Cambodia and not stick out like a sore thumb
8. Natural resource independence and Research and Development
9. Our spy and intelligence capacity

Weakness - because we invented modernity we are also victims of it. Victims of our own success means new generations really don't have a good frame of reference for how easy / good we have it which makes us soft and entitled. I think a lot of people, particularly young people and those on the right-wing, confuse this as being about "masculinity", comparing youtube videos of some Russian idiot wrestling a bear to an American 20-something doing makeup tutorials, but gender and diversity aren't the issue... community trust, patriotism, respect for institutions, and work ethic suffered once television entered the home post WWII... "wokeness" is just a slur for a misunderstood problem, that our culture and downstream impact on military readiness is struggling to adapt to technology (tv = constant entertainment and commercialism, internet and social media = social alientation, inventions to improve economic productivity = economic evolution from physically hard work to mentally and socially hard work, etc, etc.

Our greatest weakness is our success... smart people save for the crisis when things are good. They don't wait prepare for when the enemy is at the gate.

Everyday here in Honolulu is a world class airshow. 3 miles from Hickam is a double edged sword. On one side is the massive defensive posture, on the other side of the blade is being the first target for an enemy. I will not even know what killed me it came in an instant. Just a bright sun in my yard...

Does anyone know who runs this channel? It churns out high quality content quickly with a lot of information and it just seems kind of strange that I can't find anything.

You guys did address cyber or space at all. I think that’s a pretty huge oversight when discussing what a major confrontation between these powers would look like
