It’s cliche but it’s often understated. The United States military is a logistics company that does killing on the side.

Logistics. USA's logistic system is just amazing. You don't fully appreciate it until you realize US soldiers in Iraq were eating pretty good food, they had mail, they had internet, they had sanitation, they had clean water. When Russia invaded Ukraine, the soldiers are literally like 100 miles away from home and they're eating expired rations and using 40 year old grenades.

Logistics wins wars. Logistics are always going to require a massive budget. And you don't simply buy logistics, you have to install a system of moving anything and everything and maintain it. Expensive. Being ready is a money pit.

People are becoming aware of the power of logistics. Which is spot on.

But people don’t talk about institutional knowledge and experience. The US has been in some type of war nearly every year of its existence. They operate in every region of the world, and they are constantly cycling its units in and out of conflict.

Experience matters. A lot.

I think the USA could stop any war before it got out of hand, just because of their logistical capabilities. They’d have thousands of soldiers on your border before you even realized you were at war. Not to mention the fact that you fight alongside the USA would be a huge moral booster
