I don’t know if a list like this has been done yet:

Y Levels to mine at:
Coal: 136, 95
Copper: 48
Iron: 15, 232
Lapis: -1
Gold: -16
Emerald: 236
Redstone: -57, -58
Diamond: -57, -58
Overall: 8, -57, -58

Strip mining tunnels: 2 or 5 blocks apart, 200x100 blocks

Bring a Silk Touch Pickaxe!

Moss mining: Place moss in a cave, bonemeal it so it spreads, and mine the moss

Deep dark mining: Remove skulk shreikers and mine the skulk

Mining under an ancient city: Set spawn point and make an escape route

Fossil mining: Using Chunkbase, find fossils and mine the ores

Spawn proofing in cave: Place torches 12 blocks apart

Spawn proofing in strip mine: Place torches 24 blocks apart

17:30 a great tip with torches in your strip mine! ALWAYS place the torches on the right side. This makes your tunnels mutch more easy to navigate. Because if the torches are on the right you are going foreward and if the torches are on the left side your going back to your exit. This helps me so mutch because I always tend to stripmine in 1 long long long line so I end up running like 3k blocks back. Before I used this trick I could get distracted maybe turned around or something and I have ended up running the wrong way. Now I always place them right and when I go back I just have to keep the torches left. And its looks better!

I recently started playing Minecraft again, and your videos have been very informative and helpful. Thanks for the work you put into this

The best method that worked for me by far was water cave diving, I would bring with me a magma block or a door (For an air source). Often water caving will lead to huge caves that are filled with diamonds. I would also bring with me many potions of night vision. This is extremely helpful. Yes more mobs spawn but they are easy to avoid and if you're in a huge cave, it is easier to spot diamond blocks with the night vision than with torches.

Love the way how you made the videos so informative and interesting, the guides are unbeatable. Also ending the video with dying in game never gets boring

Mining Diamonds at -54 (instead of deeper) helps with the annoying lava lakes. This is the exact surface level of 99.9% of lava lakes so just bring a water bucket and continue as if there was no lake there at all.

12:59 I'd suggest bringing some magma blocks as you can stand on those for air, and they allow you to mine as if on land when you're in the bubble column. :] it's how i survive deep underwater caves since it's not easy going back up for air and in bedrock doors are waterlogged lol

thank you for referring to bedrock and the nuances with java in your videos.

Most creators seem to play java despite the player numbers for bedrock being higher, and few will detail the differences.

as a (now) bedrock player, this allows me to enjoy your videos and despite playing since beta you're always teaching me something new.

As for the 4k, it was a nice step up, especially on the wider shots 👍

That's actually a neat touch with the coal and diamonds. Under immense pressure for years the carbon from coal can turn it into a diamond. So the fact you can get both from diamonds is nice

Just started playing Java when the 1.19 update released. Needed this!

Miner's poem, by Steve maybe: "If you are digging underground, 8 is where all ores are found. If only coal is what you seek, venture to a mountain peak: 136 above the deep, or 95 where coal you'll reap. 48 for copper's luster, 16 is sure to iron usher, and from the caves into the cliffs, 2-3-2 to get your fix. And now with you a shield to hold, un-16 to find some gold. Un-1 is where lapis hails, and to 236 to make some sales. Diamonds are the final aim; redstone too if you've a brain. If one of these you wish to claim: un-58, they're both the same."

Silk touch mining is great, and for things like Lapis, I'd highly recommend it. However, in other situations, Fortune may still be viable to bring in caves.
Usually what I will do is mine up as many ores as I can and as soon as I get more than 1 stack of ore, I compress it into block form. This works with every single material type in the game except for quartz, which you wouldn't get in the overworld, obviously.
In general, it may be more efficient than holding onto the silk-touched ores. For example, 64 diamond ore holds at minimum 64 diamonds, and with fortune 3 giving maximum of 4 each, thats 256 diamonds effectively held in 1 slot. However, diamond blocks hold 9 each, which is 576 potential diamonds per slot. Of course, you gotta do the compression manually, but early game this is ideal.
Just food for thought. Great video!

I love these guides because they always teach me something new, even if I think I’m a expert at things like mining. I also love the chill mood that these videos give, along with the music

once again phenomenal guides, esp coal. ever since caves and cliffs coal has been a rare resource to me while caving, even more so in 1.19
i knew it spawned higher but having the exact levels is so helpful. charcoal is great but I'd really rather use my wood for.. idk.. *building?*
also tip to others: *get coal before you go mining.* grab every bit of coal you see if you're planning to go to lower y levels, maybe a couple blocks at least. i cannot count how many times ive had to stop an expedition bc i had no more torches/fuel and ran out of logs for charcoal lol

Love how much work he puts in these videos like placing down all those blocks for us to understand

These are the best videos I’ve watched, you explain everything in great detail and get right to the point, it’s always easy to follow along with your videos while trying to accomplish a task, keep it up!!!

The only problem I have with 1.19 is that they made mining into a form of pain, because of the new cave generation. Like the cave is so big that any ore on the roof/wall is a kick in the nuts to get. Then since there's more stone to get through, it'll be difficult to get a nice mix of most ores.

I've definitely gotten better at mining over the years. 24 blocks between torches is also very convenient. I've found out I just need to mine as far as I can reach (5 blocks) 5 times, and then place a torch on the wall and keep going. It's a nice rhythm too :)
torch 1...
