I had Labrador Retrievers for YEARS. I usually gave them shots, and it is EASY. However, the rabies shot must be given by your vet. Be aware, however, that if you are taking your animals someplace which requires vaccinations, usually they want to see confirmation from a Veterinarian.

When put needle in I normally draw back plunger to make sure not hit vain, also it’s not this easy if you got a Jack Russell as it try’s to inject you back with its teeth like mine have been doing lately, I have jabbed most breed but lil Russell’s and cats are the worse

My vet gave me a class in administering insulin shots, but with a skittish cat, it takes preparation and a movement plan, IMO. I rub and gently squeeze my cat anyway, so when it is time for the shot, she's not especially startled. As far as inserting the needle, pulling out the plunger to check for blood, then pressing the plunger, forget about it. My cat would be in the next county. My shots are gentle and quick and then I rub her back. I only stuck myself once...without injecting. Your experience may be totally different.

All the needles in this video seem short while the u40 needles are 1/2” . I wish they had 8mm needles. I do like this video since their are multiple shorts recorded. Thx

I just did this for my dog and she didn’t even flinch. Granted I used the tiniest needle and only had 5cc in there

i have done this 35 times for cats and dogs and everytime before i do it i watch these videos again lol. im scared always. my dad works with animals thru the city and has taught me how to do it yet i still feel as though im not confident enough makes no sense.
