Thank you for this. My dog was diagnosed Wednesday (Jan 17, 2024) with diabetes and this is a whole new thing for us.

My dog is at the vet tonight. She has just been diagnosed with diabetes. I been a nurse for years, I just had to see you do it tho. Dogs aren’t the same as people.

Thanks for the reminder to make sure your dog eats & keeps the food down before giving insulin!

It’s important when we do this to visualize ourselves successfully doing it and knowing it’s possible to give with ease and comfort for both you and your (furry friend, baby, brother, sister, cousin, family member)

My sweet Sophie was diagnosed with diabetes today, 4/19/24. How to give the shot was demonstrated but I will give my first injection tomorrow. I’m so scared. So much information to process and I’m devastated for her.😭

My dog was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I use Vetpen and it is so easy to use. I take the vetpen out of the fridge 30 minutes before injection, so it’s not cold. The first time I did it by myself he kept jerking because I was taking too long. I was afraid to give the injection. He never cried, or try to run, I am so afraid of needles but to save my baby’s life I had to get over it ..I am so happy they have Vetpen .

Thank you so much for these recent videos. I'm getting back into vet tech after 3 years break and it has been so helpful.

Any suggestions for if our older dog who has only been diagnosed and receiving shots a couple of months doesn't have a lot of loose skin like that between her shoulder blades like she did beforehand? My mom has found it increasingly difficult to give her her shots and I will be the one to do it when they go on vacation next week

thanks for this - but the tent hides the needle, can't see what's going on - could you do another one with the needle on the camera side? I assume the injection was behind the tent?

My dog screams like she's dying when she gets her injection.. It's really nerve racking..

I've been giving insulin to my dog for about 1 month now. But there's been a few times that when i give her the shot the insulin seems to be ending up on her fur. I'm not sure if I'm getting the syringe in crooked and it's poking out of her skin somehow? This is frustrating because I know she's not getting her full dose of insulin.

It never gets easier. I’m the only one who will give her the shot and it kills me. Sometimes it’s like she doesn’t notice, other times…she notices. Wish was a better way.

Wish you showed exactly where you injected it.

Any suggestions on giving a reluctant dog insulin, who is smarter than you?

I wasn't able to see how you put it in. The fur was covering it.

lol, absolutely not visible. I see the tech holding tented skin, then a needle. I don’t see the needle go in - can’t see if it’s going into the “tent” part, or closer to the frame of the dog, or what. Can’t see any of this because the action is behind the tented skin - but the camera is in front.

Thanks for the demonstration. What the best insulin for small dog between Caninsulin 40U/Ml and Lantus 100U/Ml ?

Wow you made that look way, WAY more difficult than it’s supposed to be. You had the needle in the dog probably 5x as long as need be
