I basically do the same thing with my Lumma! I can feel the string all the time so it's pretty uncomfortable but I'll never cut it because I like my hands clean.

My Saalt disc doesn’t have the removal string, so it’s always messy taking it out, especially since it moves around

My only hiccups with this is the cost and its not made here in the USA. I spend less than $3 a month on tampons/pads because I buy in bulk or clearance. It would take over 8 months for it to pay for itself. I'm not a fan of my money going overseas.
