still not sure why disks wouldn't work? they look the same and function similarly. why is the fact that one "has a larger basin" make it unsustainable for birthcontrol?

This is so interesting! I am curious why the disc can't be used as birth control, as it has basically a similar shape and position? What if you use it with spermicide creams? I recently got a disc (Ziggy 2) and now I wonder if it wasn't a better option to just get one product that does both, as they are not cheap at all and their cost is similar.

You’re never gonna believe this, but my diaphragm and disk are the EXACT SAME size and material. And the disk was like 1/2 the price of the diaphragm. Most diaphragms aren’t made to order anymore, and are one size fits most, and they’re supposed to be used with spermicide. I talked to an obgyn and personal doctor, and both said that they’re not markeded as birth control, and haven’t been tested, which is the only reason why they advice against it. It’s been 2 years and I still haven’t gotten pregnant. (And my profile pic is from 3 years ago, when I was carrying my son).

I saw there's period cups, then they have stems thatvyou need to cut incase the cervix is high or low I don't now if mine is high or low, and there's diaphragms.
I'm so overwhelmed I wanna cry, I wanna stop using tampons I only use them when i know i might swim, but I want to stop completely.
