Tool is one of the greatest bands of all time. No one else is like them. Legitimately. They’ve been in my top 3 since the early 90s. (Jinjer is in my top 3 too) I really hope you check out more!! Some advice, don’t do the MVs, do lyric videos, and just let Tool wash over you. They’re an experience 🖤 Maybe try Laturalus or Schism? Or anything really. It’s all good lol

Haha Tool is the band, and the singer is Maynard James Keenan. They’re a whole different vibe and think you’ll be presently surprised if you check out more.

If you do I’d recommend 46&2, Vicarious, and the Grudge (for more rockin songs like this one)

Or Lateralus, Parabol/Parabola (2 songs), and Pneuma (for deep, spiritual, and rockin)

I love seeing someone's first reaction to tool. The thing that separates them from other bands is most often the first banger you hear will be your only time having that vibe with a band. With Tool they're so versatile in sound but also very distinctly unique that you'll feel that way again, in a different way, with the same band. Check out The Grudge, Aenima, sober. There's too many to list. Enjoy this rabbit hole brother.

First time you listen to any Tool song, sit back and relax and let it take you for a ride. It won’t follow any of your expectations so don’t bother anticipating where it’s gonna go. Just enjoy the journey.

Second time you listen to a Tool song, pay attention to the lyrics. The vocals are not always front and center bc this band approaches the vocal performance within the whole of the music and not on top of it. But Maynard’s lyricism is a work of art itself and merits it’s own focus.

Third time you listen to a Tool song you will hear nuances and complexities you missed before bc now you know what to expect as a whole and can focus on the details. And the genius of Tool is in the details!

The fourth time you listen to a Tool song you’ll have the same experience as the third time in that you’ll hear something new and exciting that you didn’t quite catch completely the time before.

And so it keeps going….
I’m hearing this song ‘The Pot’ with you for the 5000th time and I’m still catching new things! After more than a decade of listening to this song it’s still a vibe!!!

The singer is Maynard James Keenan. The guitarist is Adam Jones, drummer is Danny Carey, and bassist is Justin Chancellor who replaced the original bassist Paul D'Amour in 1995. They are all extremely talented and intelligent musicians. TOOL is a one of a kind band, the journey they'll take you on if you continue listening to them is an experience.

There really is no other band like Tool. Each member is a master of his craft and the way they highlight each instrument while all forming a completely unique and amazing sound is unmatched. Every lyric has so many meanings and is so well thought through that I can't believe that they can every finish a single song. Every song is a journey that I love taking. I wish I could discover them all over again!
