NGL No2 was something I never really noticed till just now! Crazy how much of a difference it made!

I used to sweep in a more fluid motion but I have found that putting just a tiny bit of extra emphasis on each sting gives me a more percussive sound and adds definition to each note. It doesn’t seem to slow me down so I’m thinking I might have just found a sweet spot.

Ok for the parallel picking one, i gotta point out kiko loureiro, he showed the way he holds his pick in one of his video and said he was holding it this way to get his pick parallel to the string so that he could get rid of the scratchiness, and he used that technique on all his songs even tho he plays some very fast stuff sometimes.

As someone who is mainly self taught I get in my own head about things like picking techniques and whether I'm doing something wrong. I always thought that my tendency to pick at an angle was the result of improper technique but perhaps I intuited something based on comfort and should embrace it, thanks!

My number 1 problem has been tightening up and over gripping the neck when playing something on the edge of my ability. Just forcing yourself to relax as much as humanly possible and use as little pressure on the fretting hand as you can improved my technique substantial. The key to playing fast is not tighting up, it's relaxing. Its very counter intuitive, but its true.

I feel like it's worth mentioning the thumb placement when bending, especially as it's so different to the normal 'good technique' thumb placement.

Sometimes I would parallel pick for slower riffs to increase the attack

The bending one I figured out naturally on my own pretty early on but MAN did it change my life when that one clicked. it was sooo painful, literally, before that.

I've been playing 4 years I gave up on ever playing fast when you showed how to hold the pick a light turned on I tried it and it works I was stunned I was holding the pick wrong all these years
