What's Your Life Story? | @ShadeZahrai #shorts

Показать описание
Are you tired of feeling trapped by your past experiences? Do you want to rewrite your story and become the hero of your own life?
It might sound farfetched, but it is possible.
The stories you tell yourself and others create your reality.
For decades, psychology professor Dr Dan McAdams has been researching the Theory of Narrative Identity (McAdams, 2018). Here’s what his research has found…
People who live meaningful lives tell "redemptive stories" filled with growth, connection, and hope. Whereas those who become stuck in "contamination stories" focus on their difficulties and how tragic their life is.
By exploring your past and facing your suppressed emotions, you can identify the triggers and moments that have shaped your perception of self-worth. And with the right support, you can take control and become the protagonist of your own story.
How? By simply making edits to your personal narrative.
That doesn’t mean to deny what happened or overlook your suffering.
The opposite, actually.
It requires you to acknowledge it happened, externalize from it, and then choose a different ending.
(In fact, Narrative Therapy is a form of therapy specifically based on this very principle).
Will you allow these situations to define you?
Or will you reclaim control and choose action instead.
Action may mean seeking the support of a qualified therapist.
It may mean feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Action could look like ending a toxic relationship and starting fresh.
Or even pursuing your passion because it makes you happy.
So, what story will you tell going forward?
Drop a comment if you’re going to take ownership of your story!👇
