Tip: Mix the white base with the clearcoat, then apply 2 or 3 final coats on top. It will match. Also, use 1000 grit min. 400/600
is way too harsh and will take out your factory paint in no time.

People don't seem to realize that producing paints with color consistency is nearly impossible. Great video, rust prevention is really important.

DO NOT sand your car with 400 grit people please.... Also, how do you miss the easiest/most useful part of this process? A little bit of compound and polish!!! Doesn't even require power tools, just hand compound, hand polish, and itll look 10x better than what you have now.

Thank you.
It's very easy within your reach to have continue to have sanded the clear coat flush, then polish with a cloth and some compound by hand.

That will probably hold up, but when things go down to bare metal, you should etch or put some type of direct to metal primer on there.

Never use any thing lower then 1500 on clear coat it will leave deep scratches on white you can get away with using 1000 but any other Color you will see deep scratches an buff the whole panel to blend the repair

Quick tip for gm cars…. Inside the glove box there’s a “ service parts identification “ sticker and at the bottom left corner there will be
“ BC/CC U 726S “ that was an example of a Silverado I just did yesterday. But if not all then most Gm cars will have it there.

Once the surrounding clear gets decontaminated it'll look better. Back of the car is usually covered in dirt and brake dust.

Amazon is your friend for 1000+ grit paper and you can use a pink eraser to wrap your sandpaper over to make a sanding block.

Very good instruction video, I think if you had finished off machine polishing the area, it would have been even better!

Great vid, very helpful. What do you do if your paint came out patchy after sanding? Also, I've seen people use polish after sanding? Will that help? Thanks from Japan
