Fried calamari is my fave comfort food. Fresh, mediterran squid, crunchy on the outside, soft as a cloud inside. Tartar sauce and lemon. And I can't move from overeating.

Always wanted to try a beer battered calamari with honey basil crushed red pepper but I'm a lil squeamish w/ frozen seafood from a supermarket... Best calamari I've had was from a pizza joint it was beer battered with beer battered sliced pepperoncini Parm on top served w marinara to dip

I love calamari, and this is brilliant because it just kept it simple. it doesn't need much help. Having cooked it myself from scratch a million times, it is SO easy to overcook. 10 seconds in the fryer too long? shit turns to leather.

I absolutely love Calamari. I first tried it when stationed in Sicily. It was fantastic. I've loved it ever since.

He's a great chef and extremely straightforward and likeable guy. Given the love this guy is getting, perhaps people have eventually had their fill of the dramatic TV 'celebrity chefs' who are still peddling their tired old schtick around any channel that'll have them.
