INGREDIENTS for the Berta Jay's
BERTA'S AMAZING BEANS
-----------------------------------------------------
1. Into a large pot, PUT:
a. 2 cups of water
b. 1 teaspoon of vegetable broth powder (I use Seitenbacher)
2. Cook over a medium heat a, covered and bring to the boil.
3. When it boils, ADD:
a. 1/2 medium onion - chopped (equals ½ cup of onion)
b. 1 stalk of celery - chopped
4. COOK covered for 5-6 minutes to soften these 2 veggies.
5. ADD:
a. 1 teaspoon parsely flakes
b. 1/2 teaspoon Organic No-salt seasoning (from COSCO or your fave seasoning)
c. 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
d. 1/4 teaspoon salt - Celtic, Himalayan or other Sea salt
e. 1/2 cup shredded carrots
f. 3 cans of beans, drained and rinsed (I used black, kidney and black-eyed peas)
6. STIR TOGETHER WELL and cook over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
7. You're done...ENJOY!

My objective for this channel is to share with others what I have learned over the last 30+ years about living and eating healthier. I share my knowledge with my small circle of friends all the time. I am not a doctor, nor do I hold any type of medical degree, but I believe that my tried experiences may help someone else.

For over 30 years I have used every diet imaginable to lose weight, but I confess that I am now at home using the vegan lifestyle. I want to share what I have learned about eating and enjoying food. And, since I am still learning how to be more consistent with this lifestyle, I have decided to eat more healthily, realizing the weight will come off eventually. Though I have not reached my goal weight, I know that sharing with other people in front of a camera with help me to stay on course.

I have, with the help of my husband of 37 years, raised 3 grown children. I will also share some cooking shortcuts as well as some natural formulas I have used and still use for everyday problems.

I started using that broth powder because of your recommendation a long time ago. Lasts a long time and is a great staple to have in the kitchen!

I appreciate what you said about trying new foods as an adult. You're right, we sometimes need to give our tastebuds several chances to develop a taste for something new. And it's always good to broaden our food horizons since most of us eat the same few foods over and over. ~Michele

This looks so delicious to me. I *love* beans of all kinds. I just had a black bean salad for lunch. I think you could easily add some vinegar, water, spices and turn some of your leftovers into pickled bean salad.
