It’s a good split, but I think for guys who need dedicated arm training, this alone won’t cut it. I’ve had to do PPL + arms because I wasn’t progressing.

Switched to this split, doing 6 on 1 off, for almost a year now and it's great. Was doing 4 on 2 off for the previous 4 years. I'm a 58 year old shift worker and love hitting the weight pile.

I used to do full body 3x per week but my muscles didn't recover completely and always felt like shit even before completing the workout which is why i switched into upper/lower. This is good because i am training only 4x week. I can focus completely on upper body on one day and lower on another. My body is fully recovered. I am also hitting every muscle group twice a week so its working. You don't actually have to spend the entire week to achieve a physique that you want.

If u want more focus on each muscle and workouts that r way more effective do
Chest tri front delt
Back bi rear delt
Legs side delt
Repeat

You can't really go wrong as long as you train with intensity. I've found great success for myself doing chest/bi, back/tri, and legs/shoulders.

what I don‘t like about PPL is the lack of intensity that your arm training receives after you‘ve already hit your compounds. A 6-day PPL x Arnold Split would be better imo

Definitely the most versatile split. I've made great gains training it 4 days per week in a rotation:
Day 1: Push
Day 2: Pull
Day 3: Legs
Day 4: Push

Next week start with next muscle group in rotation 💪

I personally feel like PPLPPL is a bit much for those who like the split but struggle to consistently hit 6 days. Fatigue is rough. But if you do PPLPP, with dead lifts on pull day, you hit the legs enough, really prioritize the whole upper body, and manage fatigue. So squats on leg day, leg press, curls, calves, and even extensions if you want a bit more, and dead lifts on your pull day, you absolutely work the legs enough with a lot of energy (mentally and physically) for the back and upper body work.

I like specializing in isolations on this split

So you start with side delts on push, biceps on pull,
and calves on leg and push

This way, I train sode delts and biceps fresh 2x a week and calves 3-4x a week

I've been doing this split for about a year now. I like it because it goes with my busy schedule.

I have 4 days to train so upper lower is still my goto for obvious reasons. I just have an a and b workout.
