I saw someone comment on another video, he said getting used to both engines would be best as a lot of companies these days have their own engine so knowing 2 engines from the beginning would help in transitioning to a 3rd engine

Unreal is dope .If you are interested in making films, animations, environments, renders, unreal is the best for this. For games unreal is a monster .

Short answer: learn both. So many companies want people with experience with either one of those, so the best bet is to learn both.

unreal engine is present and future. Dont take unreal engine on side. Take unreal engine as your primary tool
But if for some reasons you want unity then go for it. DOnt take any engine on side. Choose one engine once and keep moving forward using it.

I started learning UE5 and good grief the entire thing feels better than Unity. Unity feels extremely simplistic in a bad way. Feels extremely uncoordinated and cobbled together in a way, as if so many things are messy and in alpha stages. Unreal feels more whole. Idk how to express it.
