Government control is not socialism..

you have market capitalist where private interest control the workplace and socialist markets where the people have power over the workplace.

Planned economy’s can happen with socialism or capitalism. That’s just state control.

Scandinavian countries ARE the most socialist nations in the world by definition. unions and worker coops dominate there markets.
Sure they have huge welfare states also but that just makes them mixed market and planned economy’s .

I think one of the core issues here is semantics. "Socialism" has become shorthand for a lot of similar but ultimately distinct economic ideas. I like that you swapped out "socialism" and "capitalism" for "planned economy" and "free market." We need more precision in these conversions.

I think you, the narrator, confuses socialism with communism. Especially since you mention the Soviet Union and North Corea, that at least label themselves as communist.

Some is correct some is not. You need to regularte the market since free running capitalism isnt going to bother with poluyion/safty etc for enviroment or people. We in scandinavia regulates the businesses in the right way. While in US you regulate on stupid stuff not on the stuff needed to be regulated. You cant have a 100%"free" market going berserk with no one setting certain limits. And when it comes to health care you are bwtter off with the country providing it since you will lower the price aswell as giving it to every one. A bigger "buyer" will always be able to reduce the prises when buyong from a "grossist"(not sure the name in english). The bigger bulk you buy the cheaper it is. Also getting healthcare should be a human right.
