4) To fix it. Go to the Windows search bar, type in "Registry editor".
5) Once you are in the Registry editor, click and expand "H kEY LOCAL MACHINE" folder.
6) Next, expand the Software folder.
7) Now look for the option "WOW 6432 NODE", and expand it.
8) Then expand the Microsoft folder.
9) Here, scroll down and look for the Windows folder. Click on it to expand it.
10) Now under the Windows folder, Click and expand the "Current version" folder.
11) Here, look for the option "Uninstall", and expand it.
12) Now look for Microsoft Edge.

14) Now from here, double click and open the option "No remove".

I followed your instructions and like some of the other commenters I have "Uninstall" visible and not greyed out but I still can't uninstall the app. Any suggestions?

Went through the steps while watching. Got the allow this app to make changes on your computer window clicked yes and nothing happened. THe app and the uninstall botton is still there it just won't uninstall it.

What you really need to do is go to that registry key and delete all the references to Edge that you find. It will tell you that one cannot be deleted. But, when you restart and go to Settings/Apps/, Edge will not be there.

THE DIRECTIONS WERE GOOD. BUT IT DID NOT UNINSTALL. Edge must be the current version of the IE plague.
