My grandmother has invented Her own strategy. Instead of stopping, and creeping forward. She puts the bumper of Her car 5 feet into the first lane of traffic, THEN stops. She has somehow never gotten Her bumper taken off.

my dad taught me that at a crossing like this where the roads aren’t exactly perpendicular, try to turn your car a bit so that it’s more perpendicular to the road you’re turning onto. it gives a better view of both sides
