Mr. Brown has a great career as a lawyer ahead of him. He is always trying to negotiate and cut an angle to get something out of you!😄😸😄

Suggestion: create a "launch pad" for Gideon; an area or a bin where his shoes and the egg basket are placed in EVERY evening BEFORE he goes to bed so he is ready for success in starting his day. The egg basket will remind him to collect the eggs. It could work.

I've always admired how you ask your children their opinions and ideas.

I love watching your kids work together and have their own ideas! The age of your kids now is probably my favorite phase of parenting. Old enough to work together but not yet driving and seeking some independence. Soak it up and enjoy every moment!

I used to put the name of rooms on slips of paper and have everyone choose a slip from a hat the day before company visits. That’s the room they were in charge of cleaning up/organizing. Sometimes I’d let them trade, but it started at 5 years old.

Have you ever considered starting Lily out with a donkey? Donkeys work and help with security on farms. You can either load the donkey with a pack saddle or hitch a cart to it.

A place for everything, and everything in its place, is the best plan for a happy ordered life.

🇦🇺Maybe all the kid’s and you need an extra chore, a half hour twice a week to clean or tidy up a different area. Have it on a weekly roster, it could be put hand tools away, clean feed area, put away gardening tools, clean front porch etc.

Mr Brown has learned there is value in not doing. If he doesnt do something for long enough he will try to get a reward for doing even the most basic of tasks.

Nope stay being versatile and have a mixed farm as you know then where your food comes from. You guys are doing pretty well with so few people and it's really inspirational to see your day-to-day reality, unplugged.

A commercial grain mill is only $400 on Amazon. Soaking would be faster if ground and nutrients should remain in the grain.
Missing shoes should be easier to find with some airtags.

Happy Birthday Jonah. Take it easy with your hip, with all the hard work you are doing.

I have 5 kunekune pigs and i ferment my whole grain feed to give the pigs the most out of the feed . I ferment it in apple cider vinegar and whey sometimes i add garlic and rosemary for nutrient..and in spring and summer i usually add wormwood and cloves for parasite control

Totally agree with letting them learn by doing. They learn faster that way and think more the next time. That Gideon makes me laugh…he is your most challenging child, but you have to love his tenacity. That Lilly is a real worker! It will fall where the wedge is and lean. Happy Birthday Jonah 🎉. Blessings always.

I have to say that Josiah and Lilly are always working in the background. Jonah is so helpful but gets more appreciated. All great workers.

Happy Birthday Jonah. You've got your tree to cut down picked out! Yum, fried chicken and biscuits and gravy for dinner and a wonderful cake made by your mom. I'm glad you were able to get the water tanks for the animals today since you got rained out for the tree clearing Justin. That was cool to see how he makes the tanks. I think plastic smells really uncomfortably weird as it's being made. Thanks for this Rhodes family.
