I love to see how Josiah blossoms, when it's only him and dad, and now that he gets to be the primary

Such fun to see Lily driving. Josiah is really showing what he's made of. A view of the pond would be a beautiful spot for the new house. Coming from the suburbs I'm a bit surprised that there is so much of the property not explored until now. I enjoy seeing you experience it for the first time.

Lovely Lily…she is such a sweet girl and is so excited about horses dad..maybe some more discussion with Lily..would be fun around this topic —maybe some goals. and more attendance at some of her lessons..the boys have their motorcycles…hmmmm. Good luck with the 100 day challenge…so many considerations for the new homestead. Excited to see your end result.

Loving your search for the “perfect location”. I’m amazed at the great shape you are in after your painful struggle last year. Like how involved and hard working your kids are.

Definitely a much better location for the house, I'm glad you guys went with the flow and didn't fight it even though you had already picked a different spot. Make sure to not cut too many trees, as you are going to want them in the hot summers to shade you from that afternoon intense heat. They will lose their leaves in the winter, allowing full southern exposure. Best of both worlds.

Winnie being protective is a great thing. I love the house spot that you just showed.

I am loving this 100 day challenge. Also it really does seem to be a better location in that new spot. Love your family and these videos.

Even a day of rest has so much activity but I love how you find time for each one in your family. Seeing Lily drive Sally is so cool. I couldn't imagine driving at 11 years old. I had no idea you were a mountain boarder as a young man. No wonder your boys are daredevils. I wasn't surprised when Rebekah looked around at that spot and said "Let's build here". She obviously has a keen eye and believes in following her instincts. This 100 days is going to be full of surprises and it continues to be a delight to watch.

as you say all the time work smarter not harder use a mulcher .Lilly works just as hard as the boys with less grumbles a pony is multi purpose access to hard to reach places responsibly a dream . the boys get all their tools and boy toys she deserves hers. me and my 3 sisters shared a pony sense we were 4 5 and 6 and hayed and cleaned stalls and showed in 4h and fairs and composted. just because her interested are not the boys it's not right she keeps being out voted

What a beautiful part of the country you’re in. I enjoy seeing the children contributing—they’re each little visionaries! Thanks for sharing this series, Rhodes!

Hey Becky, roast the beef bones (or smoke them) before you boil them for broth. It makes a HUGE difference in flavor and color.

The one thing I haven't heard you mention is the prevailing wind. You want to leave trees up on the side where the prevailing wind is coming from unless it's coming from the South. If coming from the south the silvo pasture with tall hedges could provide a minor break in winter gale winds.

Very interesting process on choosing the home site. That is one powerful little lady you are raising in Miss Lily. Can you imagine the bond she would have with a pony?

A timberframe fire tower-style cabin atop the mountain would be an awesome way to enjoy your view of the farm, to give you a reason and a destination to hike up there, and it could be built as a cabin that could be rented out seasonally, too, or used occasionally as a really fun guest house. As your kids mature, it would make a great, first step towards independence as a first apartment, too. 👍🏼

Add a ram pump to send spring water to a tank at the top of the property and the discharge water can go into the pond. As long as the tank is ~70ft above the house you'll have 30psi of pressure inside.

After watching a second time, the audio was playing! So much to think about settling where your homesite will be (as you pointed out it will be the center for spreading out & that makes perfect sense. Doughnuts are good with breakfast, driving with a parent's supervision builds confidence, due diligence on your property saves time & $, discussing plans with spouse creates trust, carrying baby Henry allows nurturing (just like breast feeding helps hold the line later even under duress) & resting on Sabbath brings blessings to all. Hearing children's laughter - priceless! So thankful to hear the audio (thank you). Shalom, 🙏😍❤️ Grace

Justin, Rebecca there is an app where you can track the sun solar rays for solar power. Elsa Rhae and Byron use it. They were nomads but now are starting their homestead in Colorado mountains. Episode was maybe 1-1.5 years ago.

You can probably plan out your solar setup this way.
