This is increasingly becoming my favorite homesteading channel. Love the insights. Never change.

I enjoyed this video from start to finish. When we bought our "farm" in 1989, the owners wanted to leave behind a Ford tractor. We did not really need it, or so we thought at the time, but we bought it for a very reasonable price. That guy, we call him Big Bud, is still going strong. My husband took him pretty much completely apart around 10 years ago and cleaned him up and repainted everything, so he looks great. We also have a smaller Kubota, and there have been several times when Big Bud had to come to the rescue to get Kubbie or our golf cart or our zero turn unstuck from some place or another. Last Memorial Day, Poppy drove Big Bud in our little community parade. He had built a little carrier that attaches to the back (for chainsaws, tools, etc.), and one of our grandsons sat in the back and tossed candy to the crowd. Great memories! Hope your Ford, Lucky, gives you lots more memories! Marie

You have so much patience with the kids, especially Gideon 😂! Maybe that's the key because you have the most incredible kids. I love watching the interaction between Gideon and Henry! I predict that those two are going to have a lifetime of fun!

I appreciate my suffering and it is an appreciated joy for what I accomplish at the end of the day. Fantastic mantra Justin. I know it’s not word for word.

Justin due to diesel shortages you should stock what diesel you can to ensure your tractor stays running through winter.

Sow the land is using a weed eater type to help clear smaller Bush build-up If you could get some type of blade that can be used it would save your chainsaw blade and time.

For when the farming is a struggle: everybody just know you will be made able because the work is necessary. I milked two gallons of milk from our goats with a 4-month-old (that screamed bloody murder the entire time) every single morning in 20F for months because it was NECESSARY. And then that season dies down, kids grow, and you can appreciate LESS struggle. Not NO struggle, just less. And that's great ❤️

I love the fact you’ve made the videos longer. Keep up the good work. ❤

My Granny was my inspiration. She grew all of of vegetables. We grew 3 acres of black eyed peas, 3 acres of green beans every year, for people to come pick their own. That money was used to buy pork & beef from our neighbor. We raised chickens, had 1 milk cow at times.
Our personal garden was over 2 acres.
It was a lot of work, but well worth it.
It was hard living this way once I married & husband went into the Army.
5 yrs ago..I introduced my 2nd husband into this way of living.
We will never be as big as some, but enough for us. And hopefully for our tiny community soon.

Yes it's challenging to parent the reluctant, the take-take attitude instead of good work effort in exchange for those inconsistent pressured push backs. Younger children demand & take no prisoners, the elder ones watch to see if you are being fair (applying the rules to all equally). Both learn to do the hard work (cause U are embracing the consistency that pays BIG dividends using object lessons). U are doing the best choices, ones that are hard to address (while the shortcut tots use every chance they see) while wearing Ur resistance down. But Ur holding firm Justin, I'm grateful to see your sense of humor soften the rough edges. 😍 Beca is becoming ravishing instead of just beautiful! ❤️ Lily is sweet, sweet, sweet. Josiah is dependable as Temple pillars & always quietly pleasant with alertness to progress. He is fun & has the laid back confidence of Dad Jonah is learning patience well (Mr Brown need a big dose). Henry is precious.🥰 Y'all are pacing inch by inch. So much better than wearing the workload into stress (no strain on satisfaction). Glad to see proof each video of commitment & how you teach by example your brood. Thanks again for the insight & perspective. Excited about tractor working & the TRAIN!! Blessings to U & your Rhodes ahead! 🙏😍❤️ Grace
