Do You Have a Sleep Disorder?

I know you’re avoiding this question because a) it’s scary to think about and b) you’re fearful of the treatment. But you should ask yourself: do you have a sleep disorder?

Now right off the bat I want to emphasize that sleep disorders are not made up conditions, and there’s actually an important difference between plain bad sleep and what we call disordered sleep. Here’s why understanding if you have a sleep disorder is so important: If you are officially diagnosed with a sleep disorder, there are many KNOWN treatment protocols that can be tried in a particular order based on effectiveness.

If your doctor knows what they’re dealing with, then they know how to treat it. If you do not know if you have a sleep disorder, then you might be trying protocols that are inappropriate. In addition, you may be at the early stages of a sleep disorder developing so it’s good to have an understanding of where you are in this developmental process. And possibly, prevent you needing full treatment.

But don’t worry, in this video I’m going to walk through what having a sleep disorder ACTUALLY means and why you ABSOLUTELY need to address this now.

There is one unfortunate, enormous problem with this video. It's the "see your doctor" part. For many, many Americans that just isn't possible. Affordability is the issue. Unless you have medical insurance with a reasonable, realistic deductible or co-pay (in the end it doesn't really matter), then none of your advice is useful.

For many Americans, being uninsured or direly under insured is NOT a choice. I am one of them. I have a severe sleep disorder. It's 4 am as I'm writing this. I cannot afford "to see my doctor" for anything less than an immediate life or death situation. It's unfortunate America is set up this way, but here we are. Honestly, what should I do to get a health night's sleep without resorting to chronic sleeping drug use?

I have a fairly new issue that doesn't occur nightly but is terrifying when it does.
I am in the state between wakefulness and sleep, and so close to drifting off.
I then get images which aren't always nightmarish, but are somehow still very disturbing.
The images are powerful, in extremely vivid colours, and often distort/morph rapidly into other things. They come out of nowhere, and loom up close enough to startles me awake. It's like watching a speeded up film and I can't stop or slow the reel of fast flowing images.
Examples are faces of strangers, sometimes hostile, sometimes smiling at first and then baring their teeth and coming far too close, animals in distress, people in distress, people doing harmless tasks that morph into either very weird or really awful acts.😢
