I thought pursing your lips contributed to dreaded, vertical "smoker's" lines? I avoid straws and pursing those muscles.

You know what else helps shape the face, the jawline, is breathing through your nose. Put your tongue to the roof of your mouth, and just breath normally like that, sleep like that and over time your face, skeletal, muscle and cartilage will shape itself around how you breath.
Best have children do this as they age, its natural and what you should be doing anyways, google
"how breathing shapes your face".

I am in my late fifties. My mother taught my sister and I how to do these face exercises when we were little girls. We do this daily. My mother's 80 she looks like she is in her sixties.

Since I have vertical lines over my top lip, I think it wouldn’t be helpful to do this particular exercise. I will try this without pursing my lips, if that’s possible!
