I’ve been trying to help my partner reframe. I’ve found it’s easier to help someone else do it, even though it’s hard without training, than to do it for oneself.

I wouldn't say that this is refraiming. In this particular example refraiming would be more: ok, if I hadn't 'failed ' in getting this particular job, I wouldn't have been able to rethink my job choices in general and finally find my dream job which really suits me and brings me joy'. It's changing the perspective of this specific thing.

That’s called cognitive restructuring and they do that in cognitive behavioral therapy.

But you’re haven’t succeeded if you failed. And if you’ve failed more times then you’ve succeeded then it adds up.
