The TERRIBLE Spongebob Movie 3...

Oh Nickelodeon. The embodiment of crass corporate immoraloty. And nothing highlights that more than The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run. Fresh off the news of Stephen Hillenburg's passing, the Nick execs decided it was time to tarnish the sole brand keeping them afloat by producing this! Not only repeating the same gimmicks with little new originality, but also masking it poorly as one big advertisement for the Spongebob prequel spin-off Camp Coral...something Hillenburg was specifically against for his franchise.

...Welp. That was about as awful as I was expecting. Crass celebrity inserts, repeated jokes, and 15 minutes of back to back retconned origin stories all to market an unwanted immoral prequel.

The idea of Keeanu being headless in a tumbleweed is funny as shit but awful in execution. Like, imagine he just starts talking in his deadpan John Wick voice going "Oh no, a strong gust is beginning to roll me. Until next time my friend."

The way they dedicated the film to Steven Hilenburg and then they ruined the SpongeBob theme immediately is symbolic of this film

It's a shame that spongebob in this movie was animated with love, but poor writing.

I like how the visuals look, it looks like moving concept art.

I really wish these companies would just learn the term “Alternate Universe” if they keep wanting to ruin the lore of a well beloved IP they can just say just put an “alternate universe” label

No matter how many sequels and spin-offs We'll get, the 1st SpongeBob Movie from 2004 will always be the best.

Edit: Wow, I didn't know Sponge out of Water had such a huge fanbase.

Out of all the 3 films, this one was definitely the weakest one. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. It just felt like a advertisement for Kamp Koral rather than telling an interesting story. I do love the style but I’m personally hoping they go back to the traditional style for the next film and have a better idea for the next film as well

The better part with david hasselhoff as compared to this one, is that they still treated it as a joke, like, a celebrity randomly appearing at the end of the movie is the funny part, but here, the celebrities are actual ""plot"" points

By far the part that grinds my gears the most is how they have the "in memory of Stephen Hillenburg" text right at the end, and then they immediately go on to massacre the spongebob theme with lyrics.

I can't describe to you how livid I got when they used the spongebob jingle to segway straight into such a fucking abysmal modern remake of a song.

This movie should've been a 45 minute special like Truth Or Square because as a full movie it feels stretched and bloated

This movie is in the “Kamp Koral” universe, which ties in with that awful show.
*And yes, Nick confirmed that Kamp Koral, SpongeBob and the Patrick Star show are all different universes*

There is something inherently wrong about hearing a reference to Skype and FaceTime in a SpongeBob movie. Same goes for the music choice to a degree. You look at the first two SpongeBob movies and they got on a bunch of indie artists and ALT rock bands to do the songs, but this time it's all mainstream artists from what I've seen.

7:03 SpongeBob and Patrick accidentally killing the leader by opening the curtains multiple times is the only time I laughed during the entire movie

This movie is basically the equivalent of a history essay with a good introductory paragraph. It has an idea of what it wants to do, but realizes it wouldn’t be enough to meet the length requirement, so it decides to add a bunch of random filler to pad out the length

Yeah...was pretty disappointed with this movie. It's weird cos it never really crossed my mind prior that it would've sucked.
Guess that'll teach me.

Movie was kinda mid it felt like a advertisement for the spinoff and apparently 3 new SpongeBob movies have been leaked I think they should have used the plot from its a wonderful sponge its sounds more interesting than this

Hey Dazz, you should do a video on The Terrible "Ice Age: Collision Course". And also "The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild" (the newest one). In my opinion, the first movie is always the best. "The Meltdown" and "Dawn of the Dinosaurs" both have some flaws, but are still good movies. "Continental Drift" is a shipwreck (but not the worst of the franchise), it marks the beginning of the end of the franchise. "Collision Course" and the new Buck Wild movie (the worst ones) have melted the franchise since.

Surprisingly there were people defending Nick saying that they were already milking Spongebob so how spin offs any different?
Simple the fact the creator never wanted one and we got two with a movie serving as an ad after the creator passed away is just gross

Actually Only Sandy's, Squidward's, Mr. Krabs' backstory with Spongebob at Camp Koral were the only retconed (Patrick's backstory of how he meet Spongebob at Camp Koral could be believable) but even then, the show retcons Mr. Krabs' Backstory where in the film, he was the Camp Cook and in the show, the head of the Camp. Let that sink in.

Sponge Bob deserves a proper reboot with newer writers. The show in its early seasons had such an effect on shitposting and meme culture I feel that a new generation of writers understand why the show was funny
