Wow... The Plankton Movie is Somehow Not TERRIBLE...

Today we are talking about the brand new SpongeBob Movie. Mr. Lawerence (Plankton's VA) was one of the lead writers for this movie, so that's probably why it ended up as good as it was.

Fun Fact: Every SpongeBob movie has had at least one live action scene. So the odds of the Flying Dutchman Movie having one is pretty likely.

It’s because it actually focused on Plankton’s past, why he became evil, obsessed with taking over the world, how he ‘met’ Karen. It was a SpongeBob movie that actually did not focus too much on SpongeBob, Patrick or any of the other main boy characters. And there also weren’t a lot of Live Action elements.

TBH, I thought I was gonna hate it, but the music was a bop, the story was interesting, and Spongebob felt like he fit right into it.

It obviously isn't as good as THE FIRST SpongeBob Movie, but I'd say it's my second favorite and the third being sponge out of water.

The fact Douglas Lawrence Osowski helped write this movie says a lot. This guy clearly knows the character he voices, and it's no doubt this movie was a major step up from the Sandy Movie. If we're lucky, if they do another movie, hopefully it'll be just as good (if not better) than the Plankton Movie. 😀

Edit: 2:13, Didn't know this was a thing, but I'd give it a chance. 🤷

Honestly, the main thing I like, was making Karen the main villain. After the first movie they always made villains exclusive to the movie they were the villains for and now, just like in the first, the main villain is a character that already appears in the main series. And it's Karen, who, for the most part, didn't do that much in the series itself sadly. At most she was Plankton's partner in crime, more so than his wife. This movie was definetly her best appearance yet. Also, her song is a banger. Usually I'm not a fan of autotune, but I make an exception for this for obvious reasons

The only thing that was good about the Sandy Cheeks movie was the reveal of her family. Other than that THIS movie was flawless! Karen’s song at the beginning was dark and evil and I know everyone must’ve loved it. I liked the song as well. Way better than the Sandy Cheeks movie.

I did like the Plankton movie, because we get to learned Plankton and Karen’s backstory, I love seeing Plankton and Karen together as a couple, I like Plankton’s first song, I love Karen’s villain song, and more importantly, the creators didn’t over do it. When I watched the Sandy Cheeks movie, I’ve felt like that the creators have over do it, and it makes the movie so ridiculous.

Fun fact, the Hebrew dubs of the spin offs movies recently have their lead characters to have an additional singing voice even through their speaking actors have sang before in the series. These being naama uzen, the main Hebrew voice of sandy ever since her first appearance as Sandy's speaking voice and Talya Barkey who served as Sandy's singing voice as well as both spin off films' dubbing director and gary, Karen (who she was the Hebrew voice in all films except the first SpongeBob movie including being her original voice actress from season 1 and some episodes between seasons 7-13), Gary (who she also occasionally voiced) and Sue Nahmee in the Sandy cheeks movie and Tzvika Shwartzberg (plankton's main Hebrew voice since season 3) as plankton's speaking voice and Gadi Levy (who was also the french narrator in the film) as plankton's singing voice in plankton: the movie.

I watched the film with my lil bro n while my brother loves it, I thought it was ok. For jokes, low-key think folks overhype it by comparing the jokes to classic SpongeBob. Sure some of the jokes at least aren’t random like how new SpongeBob, but the jokes were either sort of clever or overplayed.

Animation, mid but i wasn’t expecting much since Paramount loves to make low quality SpongeBob movies on streaming.

For story, thought it was gonna be a mid remake of that episode where Plankton under appreciated Karen n had to sing “Oh My Karen” to win her heart again. While the story is predictable, ngl the ending act with Plankton managing to win Karen’s heart was actually pretty good n I actually wanted them to destroy the beach as a couple. But then I forgot, SpongeBob n Patrick are in the film so of course they lose. Overall the big highlight from this film for me is the story.
