Why Sandy's Movie was Hated by Audiences

Why did both audiences and critics dislike "Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie" so much? Let's answer that question as best we can.

At least this movie will be remembered for one reason: being fully leaked on twitter even before it was announced

I disliked it because of how bad the human characters are, how shallow SpongeBob was and how much wastes potential Sandy and especially her family was

Sandy was seriously done dirty in this film by producers who thought that the shitpile of a plot we have would suit kids and families nicely

I've always thought that a Sandy movie would have a backstory of her beginning with showing us the start of her life in Texas - how she became the squirrel she is
And at the last part where she becomes a marine biologist, the movie would end to her meeting SpongeBob
But nope, we get a complete mess. I feel so terrible for my favorite Spongebob character

The movie should've been a prequel I personally feel, like HOW Sandy ended up at the bottom of the ocean and why she wanted to study marine biology.

I’ll give credit where credit is due, they did explain how Patrick, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward were breathing air as they apparently altered their genes to make them breath air and be indestructible so kids wouldn’t kill them.

A YouTube critic who reviewed this film said that making marine biologists the villain of the film is an insult to Stephen Hillenburg since he is a marine biologist. Not sure if I would say that myself but it's such an interesting point

Just because it’s kids content doesn’t mean it can’t be good. It just seems that nowadays people think that kids content should just be silly and whacky humor. But that’s not the case

The current era of Spongebob media just feels like the writers don't know what people actually like about Spongebob at all anymore. They just see it as a kid show that has to be loud and busy at all times, with poop jokes, shouting, random faces, and they blended that with the worst element of Nickelodeon. Their live action cartoon movies. This movie felt like a literal fusion of the worst aspects of Modern Spongebob and the worst of their Fairly Odd Parents live action TV-movies.
