I don't think I could ever get bored of bacon.

I don’t eat breakfast, but I do eat bacon anytime I desire to. As a post menopausal woman I am mainly OMAD and a Carnivore, sometimes Ketovore. Years ago I would do all the things, use nut flours, and any alternatives to try and create my “favourite” carb foods, but in the long run it doesn’t work, it only keeps the cravings strong and encourages overeating. Weight loss becomes impossible ( especially for aging women) and I’m not sure how healthy all that was. I understand that starting to eat a low carb or Keto diet for most people coming from an highly processed sugar/carb/grain diet will have health benefits, but the reality is you just don’t need to eat all the alternatives. Keep it clean and simple, give your body the fuel it needs to have energy, repair itself and get on with your life, food is not entertainment ( although the food business advertises it) and remember the low carb/Keto/carnivore lifestyle is different for everyone, you have to find what works best for your own body to feel your best.

I don’t eat breakfast, I never feel hungry in the morning. I usually have my main meal about 4pm. If I’m hungry sometimes I have a bullet proof coffee to take away the hunger pangs.I use butter, and a little pinch of cayenne pepper, cinnamon, then whisk it . That fills me up until I eat my main meal.

Most days I eat a 3 egg omelette at about 1pm. Fill with Sauted fresh shrooms and swiss, or ham, Crumbled sausage, or leftovers from dinner. Chili, browned ground beef, smoked brisket, pulled pork BBQ. Chicken, bacon, ranch with shredded provolone is an offbeat favorite.

I appreciate your statement on when to test. I initially tested 3 hrs after I woke up and was disappointed. You mentioned the “ Dawn Affect”. That was reassuring.

I learned in grade school that if I eat breakfast I fall asleep in class.

So now as an adult, I only have coffe+heavy cream+MCT oil. My OMAD is in the late afternoon.

Fantastic video, and I really enjoy all your content. I'm on a low-carb journey as I try to reverse several metabolic issues. I love intermittent fasting, but also like my breakfast. I'm up early and making breakfast is my quiet before the storm, so to speak. (I have kids who are all in on carbs, so yeah, if I feed myself well before them, I don't get as tempted.)

My weekday breakfast:
Almond milk
Scoop of whey protein isolate (0g carb)
2 tbsp organic instant cofffee
2 tbsp organic cocoa powder
1/4 tsp monk fruit powder (no erythritol)
1/2 avocado (I would love to find diced frozen avocado somewhere in the US; any suggestions?)
Macros: 4/59/16

In colder months, I do bulletproof coffee with cocoa, grass fed butter and occasionally MCT oil (tends to be a little hard on my GI).

I was looking at some of the low-carb granola options, some even claim to be "keto granola" and they show carb numbers per 100g ranging from 17g, through 35g, all the way up to 45.6g. But then they claim a much lower "net carbs" number. That might be something to consider a video on ... carbs vs net carbs. I immediately just shut down the consideration of buying any of these granola options not knowing how I can trust a net carb number. Surely a carb is a carb and will end up being glucose if you're not in some high energy demanding pursuit where your body needs that glucose immediately before it gets a chance of being stored in the fat cells.

I can't say much of that inspires me, can't stand yoghurt, my alternatives: steak and eggs, sausages and eggs, grilled cheese on keto bread, vegemite/marmite on keto bread, sardines on keto bread, kippers with scrambled eggs, smoked cod, and last but best kedgeree (made with cauli rice of course).

Hard to get bored of bacon but I do have venison sausage with poached eggs on some mornings. Also air fried chicken breast with avocado is amazing. Thanks, Doc!
