During my professional years, a lot of images that were chosen to run in magazines were shot on the cheaper 50mm f1.8. Highly recommend to anyone. Such a work horse of a lens. (I did break a few though)

I don't really recommend the nifty fity. I have it but do not use it often. For me this focal length is not useful, not quite long for portraits and not quite wide for general events, travel and all around stuff. In my opinion save up for 35 1.8, it has stabilization, better quality and is more useful. Than you can buy 85 2.0 or 16 2.8 which makes a great set for every occasion with great quality for not much money. Also you can consider 24 1.8 If you feel the gap between 16 and 35. For me thats ultimate budget RF combo, and beside the quality and price, its main adventage over any other set is the light weight, which makes it great travel, run&gun solo shooter or gimbal setup. After that you can also consider some telephoto if you need or like it.

Even with these "cheap" lenses photography has become unaffordable for me after I got my R7

Hello guys and Anthony. I really have a doubt about what to do, because I am from Brazil, and here everything is expensive, even the most cheapest lenses.
I am an amateur photographer, currently I am doing as a hobby, but in the future who knows? In the next month I will invest in a beginner's camera. I was decided by Canon R50, really like the colors, the system, everything. But when I see lenses for the RF system, I don't have any choices besides Canon, and they are really expensive here. The third-party lenses are all imported, and it cames with a lot of importation fees.
Then comes my doubt, should I buy ZV-E10 that I think it the sames specs and are in the the same price range as R50, but with much more options with lenses? Or should I maintain with the R50, and give my time to but new lenses?

for the price you get a lot, but non L lacks character and colors are flat.

Adapting third party EF lenses are a lot better than those RF non-L lens. Canon RF non-L lenses are garbage. They don't also provide lens hood.. 🤬

Is the 50mm prime good for video as well and is it stable enough when combined with a gimbal to get really smooth video?
