1) I have no friends - back seat is perfect
2) you can't pull a 10, 000 lb trailer-got it.
3) I didn't but a truck for mpg
4 I'm 6'4 and a large man. I fit, you will also- pro tip, if you are tall, you don't want a sunroof
5) the guy who selected the transmission, programmed the transmission, and selected the axle ratios, should be squarely kicked in the nuts.

2020 OR - 24 mpg on highway going 65 mph to work each day. Put a Spring Booster in around 2000 miles and never looked back. The throttle is soooo much more responsive and you can adjust it to whatever you prefer. I have mine set on #5 Sport. No more throttle lag…the motor and trans is geared like a “dog” for regular on-road driving and the Sprint Booster made the truck a true dream to drive.

The ONLY truck that i know of with a manual transmission? Love my Tacoma for that reason!! Power? I Magnuson Supercharged my V-6, stupid power 3-rd gear up!! Its a truck not a race car!!!

Some of you never rode in the back seat of an extended cab 90’s truck and it shows

First off it’s Toyota, not Tea-yota. All the reasons you claim are reasons to not buy this truck are the exact reasons I did. You should have just said, if you’re over six feet tall, this might not be the truck for you. I drove mine off the lot in Seattle and drove it to Skagway, Ak without any of the issues you mentioned. Cruise control worked perfectly. It slowed down and sped up on its own as it was designed to do without incident.

I have a 2022 SR, none of the trills. I love the truck. V6, auto double cab. I came from a Toyota Camry Hybrid. My driving habits are probably a lot different than most. At worst I am getting 24+ a gallon and at best 33. To be honest you might not want to ride with me. I get over 500 miles to a tank. I cringe when I here some of the videos from how hard people accelerate. I can see how it would go down fast with all the extra weight and driving habits. I really like the acceleration. I am an older man and have always love Toyota small trucks. I am not disappointed in this one.

Tacoma is an amazing truck if your single or couple with 0 kids! 😁

Im 6'4" and I have no comfort issues driving my '22 Tacoma. I drive mostly on the highway to commute and I get over 20 mpg consistently. The downshifting that occurs in CC is only if youre driving uphill in my experience. I have a TRD Sport so I will say that with the hood scoop my visibility isnt great and im sure if i were shorter than it might be a problem. Other than that I really dont have many complaints about the truck at all.

If your getting poor gas mileage try doing 65 on the fwy and not revving it in city, Toyota (nor ANY manufactures) MPG ratings isn’t based on racing around. All vehicles get poor gas mileage if your racing around. I easily get a combined 21 mpg. Imo that’s great. Just don’t worry about the dummies tailgating you non stop lol

All valid points. I actually hate using the cruise control due to the high revving. Get better gas mpg by just driving without cruise control on long trips

I average around 22 mpg on my '17 OR, so it's not too bad for me. Also, I'm short lol so the smaller cabin isn't a problem for me either. I still don't like how my knees are too close to the steering wheel no matter how I have my seat, but it wasn't hard to get used to. Overall, I love my Tacoma!

Like my first Toyota, a 1991 Camry. I hated that car from day one and the damn thing just wouldn't die. At 23 years 262, 000 miles, I finally sold it. with my 17 Tacoma, I average 21 mpg summer and 18 under freezing. It's a good thing my Taco meets my needs because its going to outlive me.

The 3rd gen tacoma transmission and 3.5 litre engine is built for long term use. The gear shifting in cruise you're complaining about goes away and will not revv on climbs after it's broken in. Around 45k miles, i stopped noticing my 18 TRDOR stopped doing it and would stay in the same gear on climbs.

My gas mileage is great if I'm doing 40-55 mph but terrible on the highway at 70--same on my 05, 21, and now 22. To be honest, the only thing that seems to be an improvement from the 05 to the 21 and 22 is the technology/infotainment. I had the 05 13 years and had 224k when I traded it. Still was running strong.

I have a 2022 4x4 access cab SR5 4 cylinder Tacoma and I average 22-25mpg. Some trips I’ll literally get 28mpgs. I don’t have any lifts, tire mods, any added weight etc. If I do mods it’ll all be esthetic and nothing detrimental that’ll require a retune, gear, lifts, and so on. Trust me I love an overland build as much as the next guy… but I have to be practical. Nice Tacoma! 🤙🏼

That is so true about the cruise control, suddenly revving too high on highways when there is a hill or something, wastes gas and engine.

I just bought a 2016 sr5 after a couple years of driving a government issue 4x4 Tahoe. My Tahoe averaged about 9 miles per gallon, was absolutely huge and very intimidating on the road. My Tacoma reminds me of my 2005 Toyota Highlander in some of its mannerisms. Also very very small inside and it is just my girl, myself, my son and dog and we are often putting stuff under our legs on day trips.

A few counters to what he was saying. 1 if you drive sensible your going to get better MPG from the 6 if you want to get 20 or better then ditch the 4wd and get the 2wd like I did. Next the rear seats are perfectly adequate if your just hauling a pair of friends adjusting the fronts will fix the leg room issue. As to towing and hauling ITS NOT A FULL SIZE TRUCK therefore your performance will not match said full sized truck. Chances are if you bought a Tacoma you didn’t need a full size truck anyway. The cabin height is just fine in fact I can’t stand the step packages they offer ( which is why mine was purchased without it) and I fit in it just fine despite my thighs being the diameter of small trees. The drivers seat is fully adjustable so you can find a good fit. Finally took mine on a 3 hour road trip and was perfectly comfortable. The truck is perfectly fine for its intended job

How come you’ve had so many Tacomas in such a short time period?
