Thanks for the video. However, you could have edited video to reduce the installation part and spent some time on the desktop showing if the DE is responsive, any FreeBSD specific issues etc.

I find it staggering and *horrendous* that FreeBSD doesn't offer pre-built choices of Desktop Environments (like Gnome/KDE, whatever), ready for download.

New users don't want to be farting around with command lines. They want to install it through a GUI, update their new system through a GUI Update Manager, install programs through a GUI Software Store and get on with it. That's all.

As it is, you have to go through these hideous installation screens and, if you succeed, you get to login on your first boot only to be presented with a command line #

Nothing works. Not even X — you have to find out how the hell to install it from scratch (1GB). It's utterly hopeless and SO disappointing. Total waste of time to get something up and running before you can even start to decide whether you even like the feel of it or not. In 2021, there are no excuses. No wonder it's not popular.
