I just finished setting up my Arch Linux install with just the Wiki as my guide. I must say I appreciate initiatives like this and archfi a lot more because they just figure things out for you from the get go.

I personally just use the archinstall command. It's included in the official Arch ISO. While not a GUI, it makes it very easy to install Arch. It prompts you questions (desktop environment, pipewire or pulseaudio, which graphics driver, filesystem, etc) and you answer them, then it installs Arch by itself.

I recently tried the ArchTitus script, installed plain Arch on my laptop for me :D Plus riced the plasma desktop all in one go

Thanks for showing this. I wasn't aware of Arch Linux GUI. Most of the "easy Arch" Distros are bloated (like Manjaro) or super bloated (like Garuda). Nice to see that there's the vanilla way without a big hassle to install.

Thanks for doing this. I've been wanting to get into Arch for a while but I didn't want the hassle of doing everything manually. It's also sad that some elitists will look down on you if you don't install it their way.

This is awesome, i have been running manjaro but have been wanting to debloat with a vanilla arch install with a WM. This seems cleaner and simpler then me doing it myself. Stoked

Very nice installer. I'd still recommend people interested install arch the usual way at least once (it's educational and not hard really). I'd think many going for Arch would be the sort who'd be interested in the process anyway. On the other hand, doing it for the 10th time can be tedious, so nice to know there's a nice installer.

I like this approach better for btrfs installs. The archinstall script requires you to format and create subvolumes manually before installation. Calamares will create the subvolumes for you.

I'm not even gonna lie. Looking for an install application in applications was not my first thought. That really does make sense.

After manually installing Arch in the past I thought I would give this a try. He has done great work, it was really flawless, and is still running strong on one of my systems. I like the minimalist but functional attitude of the install over something like manjaro, which I just didn't like, but I couldn't really say why, except maybe the way it updates. You cant go wrong by giving it a shot. its a thumbs up from me. 👍

I have installed Arch from scratch via the WIKI and using the Anarchy script as well. However, this stuff is awesome. I installed Ventoy on a 32G USB and downloaded all the "Arch Linux GUI" ISOs.... I could boot live Arch environments with all those DEs within 30 minutes (time to download the iso files ). This is really good stuff... Thanks for sharing TechHut!

You might wanna check out the zen version of arch linux gui ALG, it gives the user to choose everything while installing. You need an internet connection to set it up though.

Awesome. The more good GUI installers the better.

Arch become more and more mainstream, especially for linux gamers. This is a good thing I guess.

Interesting video, man. Always wanted to try "real" Arch, so this ALG thing is a godsend. Thanks for the info!

Ok after seeing this video I’m going to give arch another try. I use daily Linux, OSX, Windows. On my Linux box I have been using Fedora for over a year and have been extremely happy. I keep hearing good things about arch and now with a gui install it isn’t something that would require me to take very much time . Great video

If I knew something like this was out there, I wouldn't have gone through the stress of installing arch the hard way using the Archinstall wiki. This is the best. Just partition your disk however you want and you're good to go.
