Tip for everyone, co-witnessing doesn’t give you any benefit because you’re still blocking the bottom portion of your sight view so it’s essentially canceling out the red dot, you’re not supposed to co-witness your sights, the red dot is it’s own sight and it’s meant to be centered with no obstruction and you’ll get the best results that way, if you co-witness your sights you’re doing it wrong and wasting your money, just use irons then, i hope this helps anyone confused on zeroing in their red dots.

here's a tip - don't use the same color red dot as your front sight.

Sounds like your personal preference. That's called a co-witness. 👍🏼👍🏼

1.) disregard the pinned comment
2.) the irons are there in the event the electrons fail or battery dies
3.) occluded shooting is what you SHOULD be doing with a red dot optic. Both eyes opened, target focused, superimpose the dot over said target, press the shot.

actually it works better, if your dot were to break you can now aim with the high sight. I’m pretty sure that’s why high sights are made lol

Best advice is probably not be playing with your firearm in a parking lot unless you want some unwanted attention

If you shoot with both eyes open this is a non issue sounds like a skill issue 😂

Casuals shouldn’t give gun advice my guy.

Combat cut with it in front of the optic works the best for me

Honestly it comes down to personal preference. Your mistake might be someone else’s advantage. If you don’t like it then take it off. 😂

Ah yes, tall sights designed to see over a fat suppressor on my conceal carry pistol. Very common problem indeed.

If you run standard height sights with that and your red dot fails you won’t be able to see your irons. Suppressor height sights are great to cowitness with a red dot. If your rds fails your you’re still good to go.

People forget electronics break sometimes. So not relying on back up iron sights is ridiculous. People act like battery life is the only reason not to get iron sights. Electronics are never promised to work.

Well I did the same thing on my 19 mos and I’m perfectly fine with it taking up 1/4-1/3 of my window because of my red dot ever fails I have an effective backup

This guy doesn't understand co-witnessing, like, at all. It's not blocked by the sights bud, its integrated with them. LMAO

I don't think a lot of people even stop to think what suppressor height sights even mean.

If you're not going to run a silencer then you don't need them!

One of the reasons I run my guns with “reverse dove tails”. The rear sight is in front of my red dot window and I can still find my dot even if it temporarily projects on to the rear sight.

Place the rear sight in front of the red dot. Problem solved. Good luck finding a holster though, lol.

I thought you were gonna say never buy a Glock! I think that would just make more sense. 😂

“ never do this “ and listen to him the positive out weights the negative. JUST TRAIN that very very small negative can be fixed in training. Cause if the window cracks or the zeroing messes up and when you need it your screwed unless you have BACK UP SIGHTS. That’s why you do it
